Mark your calendars and hold onto your jerseys, rugby enthusiasts! Asenathi Ntlabakanye, the powerhouse Springbok prop, is back in action and packing his bags for the Lions' upcoming tour in France and Wales. After sitting out last weekend's EPCR Challenge Cup triumph against Lyon due to a pesky hamstring snag, Asenathi's return could not come at a better time.

The Lions are set to kick off their tour with a clash against Perpignan in the EPCR Challenge Cup, before diving into the Vodacom URC fray against the Ospreys in Swansea. While the team's spirits are high, they'll have to manage without flanker Ruan Venter, who is benched with a four-match suspension. Adding to the injury woes, flanker Siba Qoma and winger Kelly Mpeku are also out of the game lineup, nursing injuries from the previous matches.

Despite these setbacks, the tour shines a bright spotlight on new talents. Former Junior Boks like Batho Hlekani, who left a solid impression in his Lions debut last weekend, and scrumhalf Haashim Pead, are expected to rake in valuable experience and perhaps steal the show. The team is scheduled to depart on Tuesday afternoon, setting the stage for what promises to be an enthralling series of matches.

"We're thrilled to have Asenathi back. His presence boosts our line-up significantly, and as always, we aim to make a strong impact on the tour,"

noted a team spokesperson.

As the Lions gear up for an intense few weeks, the touring squad is brimming with talent ready to roar on foreign turf. Here’s the full list of warriors set to take on the challenge:

Forwards – PJ Botha, Morne Brandon, Jarod Cairns, Eddie Davids, Renzo du Plessis, Batho Hlekani, Francke Horn, SJ Kotze, Darrien Landsberg, Siba Mahashe, Franco Marais, Reinhard Nothnagel, Asenathi Ntlabakanye, Etienne Oosthuizen, RF Schoeman, Ruben Schoeman, Dylan Sjoblom, Conrad van Vuuren.

Backs – Erich Cronje, Angelo Davids, Sam Francis, Quan Horn, Eduan Keyter, Richard Kriel, Bronson Mills, Haashim Pead, Chris Smith, Nico Steyn, Morne van den Berg, Henco van Wyk.

With the squad packed and ready, the Lions' tour is shaping up to be a spectacle of rugby prowess. Will they dominate on foreign soil? Only time will tell, but with Asenathi and the crew fired up, expectations are sky-high!
