Early running and early penalty Arg. 3-0
Early running and early penalty Arg. 3-0
Suaalii scores an absolute blinder. Beating a tackle before carrying two Argies for a few meters to get over the line. 7-3
Now Montoya scores as he charges down Edmed's kick. 10-7. Not Edmed's brightest moment early in the test. White maybe a little lazy on the cover back.
Nic White with a terrific read intercepts the Arg pass but Aus knock it in the subsequent play and it's back with Argentina.
Argentina challenging the Oz defense. Great to see some proper rugby.
Oz leaking penalties. Another one right in front for Arg. 13-7
Howzat for an Argie comeback? This game's a good watch, dunno who I want to win.
Penalty Oz, kickable. Chocobares down after a tackle on Tupuo. Looks like a bit of a lazy arm after impact on his shoulder.
Howzit Blob.
Choco back up, Oz goes for the lineout.
Lekker, hoping its a memorable day for all the right reasons
Valetini just about there but he didn't get it down.
Edmed not having a good one out there. Mixup between him and White collecting the kockoff and big advantage to Arg as they're back on the Oz 22.
Jorgenson gets a yellow for hanging an arm out for the pass. Bit harsh maybe but the Argies are pushing them and had two men over outside Jorgenson.
Oz will have to be on it or they can lose this game in the next 10 minutes. Argentina is blowing hot right now.
Paisami doing some huge work on defense for Oz.
Huge run by Valetini sets up a good Oz attack but Suaalii can't gather Paisami's pass and Arg counters, last pass goes astray.
Edmed with a little ill advised run out of his 22, good initially but a poor pass has his man isolated and another penalty Arg.
16-7 Arg
Suaalii gets around Cinti with ease, Paisami kicks the ball too deep.
Oz holding out by the skin of their teeth on their own line. All started through a poor kick by Edmed.
Oz desperately need a better starting flyhalf. Lynagh, Edmed, these guys are putting them at a huge disadvantage early on. You're not going to chase down 10 or 20 points in every game when JOC comes on to steady things.
great defence Oz
Great break Paisami. Edmed now with a good 50/22. That's better.
Another Edmed chip goes straight to Arg and Oz is back on their own 22. Oz has managed to weather the man down situation without too much damage but they are being stretched still. Players look out on their feet, may need to slow things down a bit.
Great call ref on a high shot review by Wilson. Went in low enough but the Arg 9 dropped his stance suddenly.
One bad pass from the ruck by Tupuo gets Oz under pressure and Arg will probably stretch their lead here. 19-7
Arg 3 just standing in the Oz backline in the leadup to that penalty. Should have been penalized.
Another break by Paisami but his offload goes to Arg. Oz their own worst enemy, high error rate. 19-7 HT.
Paisami sporting the kind of stats you want from an inside center despite an error or two. 50m, 2 clean breaks, 6 defenders beaten. Both breaks through traffic as well.
2H starts with McD on for White and Angus Bell on too.
Oz gets penalized again, should be 3 more to Arg. Just slowly being choked out of the game. 22-7. That's 15 points through penalties.
Oz again just about there but the offload goes to ground.
Paisami showing that the basic stuff DDA gets talked up about is in just about every international 12's arsenal - with most having a better skillset outside of it.
Oz keeps kicking their possession away and Arg keeps running them off their feet. I don't think they have this one.
Another kickable penalty Arg. Oz is losing the game for themselves. This will be 18 points conceded through penalties. Arg doing nothing funny, just going through the phases and pressurizing Oz with their running, the penalties come. Oz on the other hand is impatient, throwing 50/50 offloads and passes and kicking the ball back to Arg instead of building pressure. 25-7
I'm surprised JOC isn't on yet.
Another penalty. Ref is hammering Oz at the breakdowns. JOC coming on now but it's probably too late. It will take a miracle.
10 penalties to 2. Hope the Argies don't bitch about being blown out of the game again after this one.
Jorgenson hasn't received a single ball yet in the entire game.
LOL, Oz being blown out of the game. Another breakdown penalty. Poor protection though.
Finally a breakdown penalty goes to Oz. JOC misses touch, Arg come again.
28-7. Three scores adrift, 17 minutes left. Argentina can blow this out, Oz frustrated out there.
When is the last time we had 21 points through penalties in a test? Kellaway with a big break, support couldn't catch up. Now Arg get the same yellow Jorgenson got in the first half. This is the last gasp for Oz.
Quick hands and Kellaway is in. 28-14
Jesus the difference JOC immediately makes in the Oz backline. Another spectacular try down the left, Daugunu. No conversion, 28-19
Oz cannot afford to start with bits and pieces flyhalves anymore.
Carreras selling the oscar. I like him as a player, but that's pathetic. Penalty Arg, they go for touch.
I'll just reiterate this again: the single biggest problem the Wallabies have right now is the lack of a test quality starting flyhalf. If JOC had started, they would never have been 28-7 down. They look a completely different side since he's come on.
Forward pass as Oz rumbles toward the line. Not sure if that was actually forward.
Was slightly forward.
Players appealing for penalties have reached a ridiculous point now.
Oz in again but last pass looked forward. They get away with it. 28-26. One more kickoff.
There's going to be some bitching about that call if Arg lose this.
Penalty Arg, all over. Oz left themselves too much to do. JOC has to start - they look 50% the side they are without him.
Another terrific test match between these two sides. Great running rugby. Well deserved Argentina.
Maybe Tony can ask Contepomi and Schmidt for some tips on backplay. This was a carnival compared to our dire getjommel out back.
"This was a carnival compared to our dire getjommel out back."
Surely you not talking about our Backline effort today?? I thought eventually we combined Tony Ball, Rassie Ball and defence better.
Well done Puma’s.
Surely you not talking about our Backline effort today??
Of course not, MP. By the time of that comment I had the first three games of the RC to reference. Today was much better. We still struggled to turn overwhelming territory into points in the first half, but the second half things came together.

Should be another cracker. Anthems.
