Boks are definitely in with a shout at RWC

The Rusty Boks got off to a very poor start and gifted the kiwi ballarinas some 20 points in the first twenty minutes.

There ayer the Boks got on top and outplayed the wee abs.

The Kolbe disallowed try was a shocker and simmed up a poor ref performance thst cost the Boks big time. What a pity they have muzzeled Rassie from showing all the bad decisions. Rassie must find a way around this.

Judging by these two tests I would like to see starts for Marx, RG. Van Stadem Steph Du Toit and Vermuelen. I would also like to see how Vincent Kock goes as  starter.

In the backline Arendse for sure, Esterhuizen needs another shot. Faf was superb but I would like to see Williams and Libok srarting.

There is no doubt we have got the ability to win the RWC again but of course with sport nothing is cast in stone.

With an O/R kicker as I mentioned we would have been more competitive.

Moon it was the first 20 minutes. The guys were fast asleep. After that they did well and I think they can field a better side.

We were disallowed two tries, had a biased ref, Abs had home advantage as well.

I really think we have a shot. Can have a very good squad barring injuries.

Arendse is not test material, neither is Willemse. This was not a reassuring performance.

Deus stick to politics!

Jul 15, 2023, 12:27

Beanbag, stick to ball-and-cup. Thanking you in advance.

Jul 15, 2023, 12:41

If we play like today with this team, the odds will be against us…Rassie is making stupid mistakes and sticking to much to old recipes and players….bad cracks are showing in our Game that is Not getting fixed…Under Rassie we are not able to win against the top 3 teams…only with the odd chance and heaps of luck.

Jul 15, 2023, 12:44

The gameplan was entirely different to anything used before. The idea is a step in the right direction but the implementation is millions of miles off what Meyer did with it.  Not heaps of luck, rather heaps of player 16. That has accounted for at least 8 wins since 2021.

If you had stuck with Beeno last RWC  you would have avoided much embarrassment Deus. Hope you wise up for this RWC. Hahahhahahahaha

The blobs are over the hill. Teams have figured then out. Most of these players are pushing over 30. More like dad's army if you ask me.

There hasn't been any investment over the last 4 years in bringing proper players through

This was only Libboks 5 test, only after the disaster we saw last year and yet again they insist on making the same mistake.

This was Estebeth first game in over 3 months. Jasper just couldnt do anything right.

I just want to pull what hair I have left out of my head.

A lot of big talking and all the plans in the world.

Today the All Blacks reminded us that they are still a threat and peaking a the right time.

Good thing they only play for 20 - 40 minu. If they put a 40 or 60 min in it would be all one way traffic

Jul 15, 2023, 19:20

Korn, you're way too negative...my glass is more than half full...

Jul 15, 2023, 20:21

Draad the way they deal with their immature emotions is to wail away sobbing uncontrollably. Nothing can console the dears!

Nope I was impressed with what I saw apart from the first twenty minutes. Lots to build on. And don't forget we have master coach Rassie back.

Rassie get a pal to put out a video showing all the refs blunders. There must be a way around this censorship.

Jul 15, 2023, 20:41

Hasbeeno blaming the ref? Well I never!

Beaten by a better side mate, just admit it. Great forward pack but apart from a winger or two and the occasional classy moment from Willie, your backline is average at best.

Jul 16, 2023, 08:12

Moooooo you haven't seen our best pack or backline play against the wee abs.

See Ya at the RWC.

Boks are clearly serious contenders.

Jul 16, 2023, 08:49

Congrats Moolaa...Allblacks clearly the better team on the day...we got Blitzkrieged...hope we learned from that...

Jul 16, 2023, 09:04

Yep wee abs blitz us for 16 minutes and we blitzed them for most of the rest of the game. Bwahahahahaha.

Jul 17, 2023, 13:52

The final score is what the game is all about.

A few players showed up but in general SA players never enhanced their reputations.

Willemse for one has to go another poor showing just how many more such games must we endure from him before the penny drops for the "coaches'.

Shocking performance.

Jul 17, 2023, 15:44

All this weakling talk of the first 16 minutes. The rest of the game, the Kiwis were better. In fact, take the AB for the Kiwi try, an odd mistake, the Boks likely don't score again at all. Also factor the botched call for the penalty for the lineout leading to Marx's try. On the balance of play, we were fortunate to score one try, and to get more than 3 points the entire game. The Kiwis were worth their points, and with a bit more polish, could have had more.

I am still puzzled how Deus can be do astute politically and so clueless about rugby amazing really! :D

Jul 17, 2023, 16:12

I've noticed in virtually every game that referees always give advantage to 50/50 calls to the benefit of teams on the "front foot"going forward rather to those that are the opposite, without discrimination, especially French refs. Richie McCaw knew this well. I think that's a simple reason why we let it slip. Both sides are equal and good...it's touch and go. The French players have an emergency switch on this sometimes.Refs are human, only have 2 eyes and cannot see everything.

Off the current competition and to jump ahead to WC, I still think France is my favourite to take their first WC...they have been up there too often failing in quarters, semis and unexpected upsets. Their one point loss in NZ has been niggling them for a long time, not forgetting the poor referring call way back in Durban in semis waterlogged game in Durban 1995...a very dishonest call.It was definitely a try. Albeit I don't think they had the ammunition to beat that brilliant NZ side.Kitch Christie and Joel Stransky won us that controversial game, not Suzie.:D

Beeno, the Boks performed better when the reserves came on but when the ABs reserves came on later in the game things evened out & the ABs again had moments where they controlled things again. It’s wishful thinking to imagine Bok dominance for the rest of the game.

Jul 27, 2023, 11:27

The ABs look good though, JW.

They're looking like favorites for the WC to me.

The problem is that everyone is gonna play harder against you.

Hopefully, the Boks can benefit from that again ;)

Jul 27, 2023, 12:03

I always like it when the All Blacks are the favourites at the world cup.

The All Blacks are usually the most consistently good team in between world cups... just not necessarily at the world cups

Jul 27, 2023, 12:20

I’m not convinced we’re the best team in the world right now. Plus the RWC is a strange animal & at least three teams have a good chance of winning it. Good for the game as it will bring out the best! IMO the Boks haven’t shown what they’re capable of yet.

Jul 27, 2023, 13:00

Well said JW

Although I do think the AB are really looking good this year

Jul 27, 2023, 15:41

The All Blacks are functional, but not great. They look better in the mediocre RC against exceedingly weak/poor Wallaby and Bok sides. The Boks themselves have never come close to being the best side in the world at any point under Erasputin. They look worse now than ever. We don't have the benefit of an easier schedule this time around. Had we faced NZ in a knockout game, we'd have never made the final. That was the big bonus, to take that loss in a group game.
