REACTION: The possibility of a potential flag and anthem ban continues to hang over the Springboks like a dark cloud, as they start their build-up to the World Cup quarterfinal face-off against hosts France in Paris on Sunday.

It was reported last week – as was first published on the WADA website Thursday, September 28 – that the Boks may be forced to compete under a neutral flag in the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

They could also be denied singing their national anthem before matches, due to the country’s ‘non-compliance’ of the latest WADA regulations.

It all stems from a WADA meeting on September 22 – which made it clear that the South African National Anti-Doping Organizations (SAIDS) were ‘not compliant’ with WADA regulations, as a result of the South African government’s failure to amend its outdated drug-free sports act.

South Africa has until Friday, October 13, the day before the World Cup quarterfinals, to comply.

However, Zizi Kodwa, the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, said they plan to appeal the WADA ruling.

Springbok scrum coach Daan Human, addressing the media on Sunday, said he was not aware of the latest developments around the issue.

“I’m not too sure, a hundred percent, what is happening there,” Human told a media briefing.

“I can’t really comment on it.

“All I can know is the Springboks players are one hundred percent focussed on the job, on what needs to be done this week.”

He made it clear they are going to steer clear of any sideshows before the weekend’s big encounter with Les Bleus.

“I don’t think there’s focus on jerseys whatsoever,” the Boks scrum guru said.

“It doesn’t matter in which colour jersey, or a jersey without a flag on or even without the national anthem,

“I can tell you and I can assure you of one thing, the boys who are here – the 53, our whole squad here who represent South Africa – they represent 60 million people back home and they’re willing to fight for them.

“I can assure you of that”

Kodwa said last week he was confident that the unsettling issue would be resolved in good time.

Sounds like a team nobody has ever heard of might win the World Cup. Go figure.

Oct 08, 2023, 17:48

Well at least then we can replace Kolisi without worrying whether Kwagga can deliver the high “c”.

Oct 08, 2023, 17:58

To them to get lost. Who the hell do they think they are!

Oct 08, 2023, 18:10

Rules is Rules…and now they want to appeal…just comply and get it over with.

They may have sound reasons not to apply rhe same protocols as others.Lab tests may  send different results.

A taste of the future. SA rugby have no root, no soul, no anchor.

It will end as a roaming rugby that plays  in white shit (good news) and under a neutral anthem.

Terminate rugby in SA.

This is so funny, ANC been trying for years to get rid of the springboks as a major emblem and forcing the boks to wear the protea. The poor bok had to get moved to the sleeve.

No the boks can just wear the Springbok, no need to worry about quotas and finally pick the team with the best merit.

Heck, Kolisi don't even need to be captain.

We can finally give the armband to the real captain, the real captain that won us the World Cup.

Duanne Vermeulen. He is the guy always doing the talking, last guy to leave the field. Not like Kolisi that only plays for 40 min

Why there has never been a campaign to get rid of race based selections is beyond me.

The rest the world is literally fine with the idea that our national sides are selected based on skin color.

Discrimination against white people doesn't count and is actually encouraged...especially in South Africa where it's deemed that we have it coming....ah well, fck e'm all!...I'm so tired of this sh!t, thought we should be beyond that, but I suppose it's understandable..., butthe fact that the PTB can't see that they're doing almost the same fcn thing as the Apartheid Nats...

The government said E-tolls would be gone by last December. Still there.

Maybe they should use them to cartch criminals rather, such an easy option.

Plum it's caed hypocrisy

Draad mentions the discrimination against Whites in South Africa which is rampant. However, what is even more remarkable is the discrimination against Whites  in white majority countries like THE USA L, Canada and European countries. In the UK Whites are always the racists and the ones who are wrong.

Whites need to understand what is happening, startvt9bfughtvto take back their countries from the open border Globalists and start mass deportations. If the want to survive that is.

As for the Boks let all this just add to their motivation to win.

Personally, I don't buy into this vendetta against Kolisi as a player. I think giving  Kwagga a good stint off the bench is the way to go.

Kolisi however is not the best man for Captain. Eben or DuNnevshoukd fullfil that role. Having Kolisi as Captain has had the benefit of getting racist ANC politicians off the back of the team to a significant DEGREE.

As for Trad and his desire to end rugby in South Africa one wonders what the arch mampara is doing on this forum. He is A PRIZE ASS.

Given a block function he is the one guy I would block. He is a pollutant. A stain. A hopelessly confused nutjob. All over the place.

Discriminating against whites in a country where they are a minority is far worse than doing so in one where they are a majority.

Discriminating isn't fine anywhere, but there are levels.

And the bottom line is that SA blacks aren't endowed with sufficient morals to be able to understand that they should not discriminate.

For the next 100 years, they will keep BEE in place. They will continue to blame apartheid for their current failures and it's off the back of that that they will excuse themselves for their lowlife governmental discrimination.

The world is expecting miracles from Africa. They don't understand Africa because they do not live here.

We recently had a food stall open up at and looked for someone to take it over. The lady that was running it moved to the USA. She was selling all sorts of stuff from there and making a good bit of extra money, enough to pay all her bills during Covid. After she left we replaced here with a black lady that had catering experience. This woman gradually offered less and less things at the stall until eventually she told us she just couldn't make any money. She was replaced with black guy, also with ample catering experience...same story.

Then we got a white guy. No catering experience and no sales experience. He's been growing it since he started and is making a killing. A young chap, only 23.

That right there is a microcosm of Africa.

Now, those people who were given a chance and all the help they needed will end up still blaming apartheid for their inability to make a success of something. And statistically, the reason for those failures will never be examined. It will always be a general view...X average income versus Y average income. Never how and why does X does better than Y.

And because it's only about skin color and not about actual opportunity or background...the government will never be pressured into doing away BEE and their followers will never vote it out.

Whites in SA will forever bare the brunt of black failures.

Just had our job stopped by the construction mafia this morning...total fckup...Cape Town joining the rot at an alarming pace.

Oct 11, 2023, 17:05

Have had construction mafia issues on more sites than not.

Would be nice to just shoot them when they turn up.

Oct 11, 2023, 17:16

"Would be nice to just shoot them when they turn up."

What I told our Security manager in jest this morning...security accounts for between 20% and 25%  of our budget at present...money which should have gone to infrastructure development...another 25% to fix vandalism the security couldn't prevent...50% that goes down the drain due to this vermin popping up everywhere...crime driven economy...total disgrace.

Oct 11, 2023, 23:24

W.t.f. is the 'construction mafia'

Oct 12, 2023, 04:44

They demand money in exchange for not murdering your staff or burning your equipment.

Oct 12, 2023, 07:10

Dankie Draad ........... so fkng sad ............. skoon verlore

Oct 12, 2023, 07:56

I have the construction mafia involved on 8 out of the last 10 projects I've been involved with.

And the cops won't do anything.

They literally say things like "Marra da peepol must eat mos."

Africa will never get ahead of where it is now. And they'll forever blame everyone else for it.

Oct 12, 2023, 08:32

These construction mafia and SMME's are dangerous ....

Been involved in it a few times ....... and most of their demands are just pathetic .... and who and how they want to split up their "proceeds" from the job, is even worse ...

People have been assassinated for this already ...

It's even worse when 50 - 150 individuals just storm the work site, shutting down everything ....whilst making stupid and ridiculous demands

A fucked up society in which these people live, that just want something for doing absolutely nothing ... and the more it is endorsed and accepted, the more prevalent it becomes ...
