Boks made a mess of that high kick. Good start for Ireland.
Boks made a mess of that high kick. Good start for Ireland.
Just 2 minutes in Mostert already bleeding. No one goes as hard as him. Dave probably creaming himself seeing RG on this early
But of course Mostert was never going to let a bit of blood stop him for more than 30 sec
Boks looking to target the first/second
Different feel to this one
Etzebeth
Sacha taken out.
Not a well placed kick through by Pollard. Good possession gone.
Our wings are not good under the high balls. Free advantage
Ireland dominating. Thank goodness it was Pollard under that cross kick and not Arendse.
Yep...much different.
Ox smashing Doris.
Super try Ireland. Slick as hell.
Not sure what big old Frans was doing there.
"Best passer in the team" once again throws a pass that Kriel had to stop to catch. What bullshit Tony Brown.
Schalk saying exactly what I said on another post, the Boks leaving something to be desired in the intensity department.
Eben back.
Nah Pakie...Kriel actually had to step backwards to catch that pass from DDA.
Mostert off now, RG on. Give us a smile, Dave.
Bok scrum
10-3. At least we're on the board.
Box kick too deep. We don't need to be handing Ireland the ball like this.
And again too deep. Boks have a death wish it seems.
Good try saver Sacha,a
Nah Pakie...Kriel actually had to step backwards to catch that pass from DDA.
I wonder if any player in Bok history has been talked up as much while delivering as little as DDA.
Again Ireland get change out of the high kick.
Boks win a scrum penalty again. Bloodied Irishman this time.
Kolbe drops the pass. Wasn't perfect but you need to take those at this level.
Just tuned in.
I see ou mozzietard is defining Alkende's passing ability by a ad pass
I see also the oaks are realizing Arendse has his weak points.
Hilarious stuff from the oaks.
Ireland's ball retention is very good, and their backs are slick ball passers.
They have a low error rate which lets them run through lots of phases quickly.
Well this is a proper test match anyway.
Has Kwagga lost his pace?
Kwagga has lost speed.
Kwagga with the chargedown, just don't have the pace to pick up and get to the line. Kolisi might have worked a little harder to get in a position to support there.
Well we made a mess of that. Where is RG's physical dominance, Dave? Carried back 3m.
Nowhere near as good a game as this morning's one. Scrappy, full of mistakes and nothing working for anyone really.
Not the Kwagga of
sevens days.
Bok timing off. Nothing's coming together.
Hey Dave...you officially owe me money.
Boks are lucky to only be 7 points down. The error rate is high, Faff looks like a deer in the headlights
Great burst by Allende. So strong.
How about a try Boks!
Now Bongi fouls up.
DDA beats a tackle, then slowly burrows and is ripped
Since I been watching the Boks have been in charge.
Another scrum penalty to the Boks.
Your reading
of the Allende burst is blocks Pakster.Well done Pollard. It's 10 - 6 Ireland leading.
It was all Ireland for the first 25 Beeno.
Your ready of the Allende burst is blocks Pakster.
Eh wot?
10-6 Ireland
PSDT gives them free pionts
Ox putting in some big hits again.
Darn Obstruction against Boks called!
That was really stupid by Steph.
You must really love tennis if you watch that instead of Boks vs Ireland, Beeno.
Now we kick off too deep. Boks need to wake up. Think Rassie's half time in the changing room will make for a classy video again.
I think Rassie will have a lot to say at half time.
Should hav
Ireland exploiting the Boks' narrow outside in
Ireland intensity is high…they doing extremely well disrupting our possession….I think our scrum is not as dominant as it supposed to be…we struggle to get a rhythm going in the Backline….we are trying , but credit to Ireland they are all over us in defence….man there is a lot of bleeding today….come on boys let’s go!
Steph with the try stopper.
Boks all at sea here.
Only their power keeping them in the game.
Skills, decisions, cohesion...none of it present on the field for them.
Into the half and Ireland deservedly lead by 10...though it feels like deserve about 7 more than that.
16-6 halftime. Ireland full value for their lead.
Yeah, that tackle from PSDT was a sure fire try saver.
Big difference when Mostert isn't there. Suddenly the other forwards each need to make a tackle or two more.
Only a complete fool wouldn't notice the difference between Sous being there and Sous not being there.
Nice to see DDA making a couple of positive contributions. He was involved in a strong counter ruck and made a dominant tackle in the half.
Honestly though, our forwards look a spent force. Nobody fetching, intensity missing, and nobody providing any momentum other than at scrums.
Ireland are clearly the dominant team ….but our intensity is lacking….we are fighting but not making any headway….our guys looking a bit pap…if we can just get some structure going and build up phases, drawing more Ireland defenders in we will have more space on the outside to score….I hope sincerely we come out with more fire and pull this thru….this will be great if we can come back and win here, major self esteem boost… come on Bokke !!
Nice to see DDA making a couple of positive contributions.
Pity he missed the two guys who had shifted to his outside after he beat that tackle in the 22. He just lacks the quick awareness needed to turn little breaks like that into something more than just a head down
Te forwards aren't suddenly gonna up their game. We need the bomb squad to make an impact.
Van Staaden needs to come on and start bouncing people around.
I'm picking him to make the difference in the second half.
...and let's hope Marx gets a steal or two.
Oh, and RG has been completely MIA.
Pakie...I can't wait for Mikes player ratings.
DDA is gonna get 300 out of 10.
And Mostert will get -134572747284 for getting injured.
Retain as much ball as possible, disrupt Ireland's possession
Agree on that…all good and well Brown is there teaching this new attack model, but you need guys in the midfield that have the necessary skills to put players into space with slick passes and the awareness to spot space…not happening with the guys that are there….DDA always there with his strength though, but tends to always look for the contact and not the offload
Brilliant
WTF Faf??
SFN making a fantastic break but Faf having a brain fart to waste good ball.
Get Blondie off the park ffs.
Fantastic run from SFM but then Faf turns a certain try into a lineout throw with a stupid attempt at a grubber.
Lineout steal Ireland. Meh.
Sasha makes immediate impact.
Well Sa
My word DDA is the most clueless back I have ever seen.
Seriously. How long does need to make a decision!!!???
FFS!
And DDA again stopping all momentum.
Again on attack, good possession and Ireland just take away…Kollisi just watching and not getting stuck in!! Man what the hell?
DDA:
Williams on for Faf. Good call.
Welcome, Rooi
16-9. Better start, thank you Sacha the sparkplug. At least one bloke who looks awake out there.
As they pause for the scrum, can I just say...
The SFN hype is real!
Marx comes on. Still think the Bokke will run away with this one. Come on Bokke!
And again we lose a high ball. Why do we box kick on our wings when they're useless in the air?
Would have loved to see DDA run straight at the defense to pull them in there instead of just flinging the early pass.
Time for the officials to get some limelight.
Doris off for 10
. Come on Bokke, make it count!
Potato thug sent off!
We better use this yellow. Marx already making an impact. 16-12
Predi
For guys like Pakster Allende can do nothing right. Very consistent is Pakster.
Rassie's pep talk seems to have helped.
Good to see Van Staden coming on. Get some go forward.
Fair stab through Sacha, wasn't too much on outside. Eskom on.
Boks picking up a bit of Tempo
Boks playing the territory. Another penalty.
Should have kicked for the corner and gone for the try . . .
Slooow ball. We gt the penalty though. Watch Ox. Involved everywhere and in everything. Tremendous work rate for a prop.
Pollard converting pressure into points
This kick I'll take. Come on Bokke!
Great offload RG.
RG coming to the party and starting something with a nice break and offload.
Superb play Boks.
Another penalty.
Ox off after a brilliant display. Steenekamp is a good replacement.
Ox off. We'll lose something in that. Great game.
Kwagga lets Ireland back in with a stupid penalty.
Dammit Kwagga...there was no need to go beyond the ball and try to steal it like that.
Shit!
Indeed, Pakie...
OX my MOTM thus far.
Kwagga's head explodes. Daft play.
These box kicks from inside our 22 is just free possession for Ireland. We need a different strategy. Boot it into the pavilion or something.
Yes! Offside! Boks should re-take the lead here . . .
19-18 as Ireland hits the lead again.
Come on now Bokke, let's finish this off with a try or two . . .
Eh, tough one for the Irish but we'll take it. Looked like a Bok hand that slapped that ball.
Brilliant kick and chase by Grant Williams . . . Bokke on the attack . . .
Grant foooooking Williams!
Well done son!
Now that's a much more productive way to clear from the 22 after a kickoff. Great stuff Williams.
Damn he's fast.
Funny how the Bok maul has become a non-event.
Another penalty.
Who was bitching about Pollard's place kicking last week? No different to Libbok? Ha. Ha.
Arendse is very weak contesting the high ball. Mpimpi far far better.
Again free possession for Ireland off the box. Fortunately they boot it away. That looked a bit tired fro
Terrible lineout by Ireland but they get the penalty. Touch 5m.
Good defense RG.
Why drop out down the middle of the field.
Drop goal Ireland. Strange giving up two kickable penalties and then dropping. 24
Ox gets a well deserved montage.
Ireland just absolutely owning us under the high ball.
Let's see yo
u run again Sacha, stop kicking every time!
World Cup playoff vibes for Ireland. Can they pull it through or will they implode?
Poor kick by Frawley. Bokke have an attacking lineout . . .
Things not working for Ireland now.
Better second half but still so many mistakes.
Both these games have been scrappy
Ireland will have to hold it and run it now.
Lovely play Ireland, they're in range now.
Well done Ireland. They never went away . . . hang on . . . possible obstruction? Surely not . . .
What a terrible end.
No, Ireland get the win. Very disappointing finish. Well done Ireland.
They've done it with a droppie! Well played.
Are we reviewing? Nah, Ireland's got it. What a test. Scrappy but intense, can't even be too disappointed with the result. Boks made far too many errors and repeated plays that were clearly working in Ireland's favor far too often.
Well done Ireland!
Epic finish.
Legendary stuff.
That drop kick will be remembered until the end of time.
Have a beer on us, Stav!
Sasha just had to leave that Irish touch k
ick.Then a long range drop.
Luck of the Irish.
Sasha just had to leave that Irish touch mick.
Then a long range drop.
Luck of the Irish.
The little things these close games invariably turn on.
Well, Rassie's luck finally ran out. Ireland were the deserved winners, well done to them.
A few changes will need to be considered for the 4 Nations Championship.
Guys that must be dropped.
Kwagga,
Kolisi,
Arendse.
Malherbe looks out of condition.
Boks didn't have a brainfarting Lowe like last week.
Ox MOTM.
Stav congrats ................. well deserved victory.
Great second half by Boks.
Boks deserved the win in the end.
I actually like this result, checking social media this week Bok fans were getting annoyingly cocky. Nice to come down to earth every now and then.
Frawley won
Well over to the Bok knockers and Rassie basher. The field is yours.
Let's see what these loons will come up with.
For the Boks, their is question marks over their ability to score a try.
Ireland deserves the win congrats….the Boks were there worst own enemies !!..we had plenty of Ball but Dud and Jessica acted like Loose forwards and always takes the contact not the offload…RG was actually showing how you should offload and he’s a lock!! That midfield pairing will not produce the goods in the long run!!…a lot of unnecessary errors from the boks that actually allowed the Irish back into the game….Frans and koch need’s replacing by Wilco and Thomas….the Irish out scrummed us totally Ton…yet again I say, what does it help you have a attack guru like Brown And you don’t have the right midfield?? Bring back AE ,Moodie, Willemse ( when he is ready) AM …they all have brains and not Dumb muscle ….Pollard is not the problem also not Sacha….Kwagga should not play 8 or start…. Bring in Roos, Cameron when he is ready and Elrigh Louw…we need young power and energy in this team…Ireland outclass us ton… we need new personnel…Kollisi is only on form sometimes and not consistent….inspiration my ass he is not good enough….can’t Fault Pieter and actually a very good captain…Bongi also tired, Marx still good, but young guys like Grobbelaar, Wessels and Venter needed….we can not score with the possession we have and that is a major worry!!!
Wow, what a match...congrats Ire!
Ox ..... upon this rock lets build a team ............... transition time beckons.
Well over to the Bok knockers and Rassie basher. The field is yours.
Nah, it was an epic game. Both sides made many errors. Boks need to get their game under the high ball sorted. The small wings aren't working for that. Our persistence in box kicking out of the 22 after kick offs gave Ireland attacking possession every time and at least 3 points with the Kwagga penalty at a crucial point late in the game. The one time Williams did something different we made 60m downfield.
Congrats Ireland, fantastic game management. Kept their nerve, two amazing clutch plays. Exiting their half and managing the clock. Two drop goals.
Kwagga needs to be dropped. Faf kept stuffing up. Williams turned the game around. Agree that flab and Koch had their days. Kolisi kept being a ruck inspector. Didn’t once put his body on the line.
Hope Rassie start to phase out the old players.
Zulu had a nervy start but then started to show how good he is.
I want to see Willemse, Feinberg, Moodie and Arendse unleashed
Tony Brown wadaya gonna do?
Congrats Ireland, fantastic game management. Kept their nerve, two amazing clutch plays. Exiting their half and managing the clock. Two drop goals.
Yep, brilliant execution in a high pressure situation on both counts.
Sacha sparked the Bok comeback with those two runs at the start of the second half. Inspirational stuff.
Rassie said before this game that the Boks needs to adapt or die….well clearly we need URGENT reshuffling in Personnel or we will die spectacularly against the AB….that is what Rassie needs to do!!! And Brown must stop blowing smoke up Dud,s butt….face the reality the Dud & Jessica is over !!
Not sure you have much to fear from us, our line-out is a mess. We lack height and depth at lock which is going to cost us big time.
As for tonight's game Boks struggled and felt the ref in the 2nd half leaned a little towards your lot. Overall thought the Irish were just a little bit better overall. Result was pretty accurate to me.
Enjoyable series. About the right outcome, Boks where the better team in the first game, Ireland maybe fractional edged the second, very little to choose between them and both teams will feel there is area's they could have played better and won out overall. Shame there isn't a third game to decide the series.
Not sure you have much to fear from us, our line-out is a mess. We lack height and depth at lock which is going to cost us big time.
The New Zealand-England games where not played at the same physicality that the Boks-Ireland where but after 2 games under new management, can't expect the world from the All Blacks and England are a pretty decent outfit now, but I think the AB's showed glimpses of how good they could be. I think if your a Kiwi you should look forward in positivity.
