South Africa has he sme basic T20 compared to India and the squad names used the basic system of playe auction as well/ So what happened was as follows:-

It is now more than three years since Dewald Brevis, South Africa's "Baby AB", burst into public consciousness by earning an IPL deal before having even played a first-class game. But until June of this year, his only mark on international cricket were innings of 5 and 0 in two T20Is against Australia back in 2023. A fifty on Test debut in Zimbabwe augured well, but the full range of his abilities shone through in remote Darwin last month as he smoked South Africa's highest T20 international score - 125 not out off 56 balls - and second-fastest hundred, in only his ninth innings. That innings, no doubt, contributed to Brevis being the No. 1 draw at Tuesday's SA20 auction, where he went past his captain, Aiden Markram, as the tournament's most-expensive ever signing at R16.5 million (US$940,000). The spotlight won't be going elsewhere for a while.

So if Brevis went for $US 940 000 one would say in the IPL he will get paid nearer to will be much nearer to $3 million than to $2 million in January in the IP: salee. - and the players earn the money in 17 weeks and for the rest they get tincome from SAC, Mini AB is fortumate he has Big AB as his investment advisor, There are big business partnerships the latter and Kohli are involved in making his total wealth is being estimated being R300 million.

Yeah, I read that one...not sure if it's a good thing or not. It's unimaginable the pressure he'll be suffering.

Would like to have seen him progress into test cricket, build his game etc but you know it's a very different playing field these days excuse the pun. The dollars though would have been extremely tempting.

GL to him he's a rare talent.

ps I read he went for $1.4m

Must be Aussie Dollars, I used US dollards

I agree with you about the kids, The money is obviously an attractions but it could also be a detraction and youngsters rjy cn th inl their balls are bigger than Jersey Island. Thy can neglect trainng and that remainsa problema as well. However he is a protegee of AB and I think he is going to get sound advice from him. .

Appaently he is a nice and humble kid with a decent up-bringing and ia likwly to keep playing top class cricket.

Good for the young man.

Now he has to deliver in each game........

Test cricket is unable to match any of these earnings for the shorter version of cricket so more and more players will migrate to the shorter version.

Besides in these shorter version of cricket a result is always achieved unless the game is cancelled.

I for one prefer the shorter game after watching drawn out test matches ending in a draw.

T20 is for those who want to be entertained....period. Guess in a way it's like 7s vs the real deal. I've yet to hear a player knock Test cricket.

Test cricket has a reference and a legacy, T20 well.......has the $s
