The Vodacom Bulls are beefing up their flyhalf lineup in what could be dubbed a tactical masterstroke, securing the loan of dynamo Kade Wolhuter from the Lions just in time for the URC's second act and the kickoff of the Investec Champions Cup. This strategic move plants Wolhuter at Loftus Versfeld until the summer of 2026.

Wolhuter, who kicked off his professional journey back in October 2023 with the Johannesburg squad, is no stranger to rugby success. A shining star from his days as a Western Province junior, this 24-year-old flyhalf has the chops and the ambition to stir things up in Pretoria. After breezing through his medicals last week, Wolhuter is champing at the bit to hit the ground running. "I'm super excited," he admits, eyes firmly on the prize.

"My ambition is to get onto the pitch and start contributing, after which I’d like to have a proper tenure at the union."

His roots trace back to Durban, where he first dazzled as a schoolboy sensation at Paul Roos Gymnasium, before honing his skills even further during a developmental stint at Montpellier. Now, with professional stripes well earned, Wolhuter is poised to add a fresh spark to the Bulls' ambitions.

Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone is all smiles about snagging such a promising talent, noting,

"We are thrilled to welcome Kade to Loftus. He’s a talented young player with a proven track record at age-group and professional level, and his attitude will add real value to our squad during this important period for the team."

This move not only spices up the Bulls' strategic options at flyhalf but also sends a clear message to their rivals: the Bulls are in it to win it, bolstering their ranks with young, agile talent ready to leave their mark on the pitch. With Wolhuter now in the mix, the upcoming season promises to be an electrifying display of rugby prowess.
