Bulls hit right back as Moodie shows why he should be playing at 13 to draw a defender and put De Klerk into space.
Lovely score

Not a really satisfactory performance at all. The bulls will need a great upgrade if they want to be in the semifinals,
An upgrade to Jakeball.
Exactly Paks...and it's early doors.
i think they'll only get better
They looked better than last week but there's a lot to be done. Man up for 20 minutes and they still relied on the opposition not splitting the uprights to win. And it wasn't like Connacht set the stage alight.
I think that Akker wants a more balanced gameplan. He's always liked quick rucks and spreading the ball with the backs backing themselves.
However we feel about Jake right now, he had the forwards humming last season, playing a specific way. Unfortunately, it was centred around tanking up the middle of the field.
Akker wants it to go to all corners, clear it quickly and spread it again. My layman's interpretation of that is that he needs a smaller pack to do that.
But he has guys available to him, and soon to be available again, that are gonna fit into that very nicely. Hanekom, Nortje...those are the types of forwards that thrive at gorilla warfare type of plans.
I'm thinking his pack will only look like it's final form about halfway through the season.
What f'd the Bulls last night was some atrocious kicking. From both Canan and Willie. It's like they seem to think that game management always means kicking.
For me, they'd have been better off setting, and then dropping big high bombs on Connacht. Rather than irretrievable grubbers or kick passes that aren't only dangerous but win you no ground if they don't come off.
Like, I get that after a few phases, sometimes progress stagnates. But when that happens and your on their 10m line...set up, put one into the clouds and let's make them defend that 50/50 ball.
Must say, grubbers aside, I'm loving what Moodie is turning into. Guy is a proper smoother operator.

Pretty meh first 6 minutes.
Thinking that Bulls should start clicking now. They've opened the game like they came to attack.
