In a significant blow to their lineup, the Bulls XV will be without powerhouse Springbok centre Jan Serfontein for their upcoming SA Rugby U23 Cup clash this Saturday against the Stormers XXIII in Cape Town. Serfontein, a key player for the Bulls, sustained an MCL injury during last week's dominant 68-26 victory over their Cape rivals. His absence paves the way for Marnus Rademeyer, who will be making his debut start in the blue jersey.

The Bulls XV are not just about one man, however. The team sees several strategic adjustments this week. The notable inclusion of Henry Immelman, freshly returned from abroad, bolsters the backline, while the versatile JJ Theron shifts from his usual No. 8 role to lock. Adding to the firepower, Viaan Mentoor makes a timely return from injury to reclaim his position as flyhalf.

Leading the charge once again will be flanker Nama Xaba, who's proven his mettle as captain. His leadership qualities will no doubt be crucial in steering the young Bulls side through the upcoming challenge. "With the team we have, our focus remains on playing our own game and maintaining the momentum we have built," Xaba commented.

"Every match is an opportunity to test our depth and resilience. Marnus stepping in for Jan is no different. We back him 100%,"

The Stormers XXIII are also shaking things up with the return of Roche and Hartzenberg, setting the stage for what promises to be a tightly contested encounter. The game is scheduled for a 4pm kickoff, following the Vodacom URC match between the Stormers and Connacht.

Here's how the teams line up:

BULLS XV – 15 Henry Immelmann, 14 Ruan Enslin, 13 Marnus Rademeyer, 12 PA van Niekerk, 11 Riyaad Bam, 10 Viaan Mentoor, 9 Neil le Roux, 8 Junior Pokomela, 7 Cephas van Biljon, 6 Nama Xaba (c), 5 Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, 4 JJ Theron, 3 Jean Erasmus, 2 Juann Else, 1 Aphiwe Shelembe.

Bench: 16 Shaun Schürmann, 17 Sti Sithole, 18 Duwan Potgieter, 19 Jannes Kirsten, 20 Sintu Manjezi, 21 Steven Nel, 22 Ruben Groenewald, 23 Akahlulwa Boqwana.

With these line-ups, the stage is set for a ferocious battle in Cape Town, promising rugby fans an exciting display of young talent and strategic gameplay.
