Cameron Hannekom, Elrich Louw and Roos, potential bok loose trio?!

Wow, what a game by Cameron today for the bulls. That bulls pack is shaping up to be something special. Kept the Leinster forwards quiet all game. We have some serious debt in the forwards.

Both Louw and Hannekom were all over the field, pilfering ball, make breaks around the loose. Louw bashing over players and making his tackles.

Now imagine having the likes of Pieter Steph, Etzebeth, Marx, Kitsie, Willow Louw, RG Snyman and these youngsters ready to come on or visa versa. We might see Rassie pick 8 forwards on the bench.

Anyway, we still need a number 4 lock but can't wait for the test season to start.

Almost feel sorry for Kolisi, Gunede and Pepsi, all fine players but these guys are a cut above

Hanekom played the best number 8 game we have seen from a South African player in years…so many contributions, not just process tackling

Die Paarl se manne skop gat.

Jun 15, 2024, 22:51

We have so many class loosies it’s hard to nail the 3 best but Hanekom, Elrigh Louw and Roos are probably the 3

6. Hanekom 7. Elrigh Louw 8. Roos

Mouth watering

With Ox/ Gerhard Steenkamp and Wilco/ Thomas du Toit and Grobelaar/ AH Venter up front and the likes of RG Snyman/ Jenkins/ Ruan Vermaak/ Moerat and Ruben v Heerden at lock

Not to mention a handful of other names

And then in the backs we have some real class younger talent in Fassi, Arendse, Green, Moodie, Willemse, Henco v Wyk, David Kriel, Jordan Hendrikse, Sacha, Libbok, Masuku, Williams, Nohamba, Papier, vd Bergh, Hendrikse

Future looks bright

To think Cameron is only 21. I didn’t know what the fuss was all about, but now I see why.

Just hope the politicians stay away or we will lose some top players.

Don’t forget Ox, he is the the number 1 ranked player in the URC and can play both sides now. Taking over from Trevor.

I was worried that we have too many retiring players but the future looks good.

What I love about the bulls game is to see how Louw destroyed Porter. That Irish thug irritates the hell out of me.

I hope the boks fuck up the Irish forwards in the coming test and then our backs tear them a new one.

Great to see the bulls without the boks beat these guys and even better to see no Irish teams in the final

Jun 16, 2024, 10:06

That loose trio is unfortunately too white.:'(...never gonna happen.

Jun 16, 2024, 10:44

Well, we have quotalisi still around and now there are rumours that they might still keep for the next World Cup. The guy can’t play more than 50 min, where as oupa Deon played 77 min at 38 and at hooker in the final in the most physical game.

Quotalisi even got to rest his arse for 10 min after getting a yellow.

If you watch chasing the sun Rassie chewed him at Eben out for being show ponies and to distracted.

I don’t care what colour you are, but I like the fact we can build a world class bunch of 23 players if not more. There will always be injuries and the seasons are longer these days.

Should I mention the pointless Welsh test that is on the same day as the URC finals as the bools

Wilco is an absolute beast as a scrummager

Imagine a frontrow of Ox, Marx and Wilco

Jun 16, 2024, 11:22

Ja, Wilco is now the clear best 3 in the game...I like Malherbe, but Wilco is next level.

Time to school some of the young guns in internatonal rugby I would think.

We have four years to school a group of young players  in international games to replace the old guns who are getting weak in the knees and not always able to deliver their best.

Perhaps it would be wise to select a few #10's for Springbok camps as we appear vunerable in that position once Pollard goes or is injured.

Perhaps now with the melt down of the ANC we could perhaps get back to merit selection in life and sport in RSA or am I hoping for the impossible.

Ja, I think Kolisi is done, picked up criticism from the club president for being out of form and picking up weight. Maybe he needs a proper break given how long the french season is.

Etzebeth and PSDT are playing some of their best rugby right now, but can they play like this in 4 years time?

Wiese is a card liability and one dimensional. Then if you look what Hannekom did to the Irish back three, then the future looks bright

Nice to see talent coming through and now COVID to hamper team development.

Also looking forward what Tony Brown brings

No ways is Kolisi done - he will turn it on when back playing for the Boks

Rassie knows how vital he is as a leader on and off the field. His influence extends beyond rugby and an inform Kolisi is a class act

Jun 17, 2024, 22:28

Well on Form alone, past and present, a loose Trio of Hanekom, Roos and Elrigh is the obvious choice going forward….Kollisi is mainly there because of his reputation and status.

Jun 17, 2024, 22:37

Well the new players are not going to take over from Kolisi and PSDT until they are done and they are not done yet

All the major players have far less productivity for their clubs compared to country - Rassie knows this well

Jun 17, 2024, 22:57

Apparently Kolisi is in trouble at his club because he has put so much weight on and is unfit according to the boss.

Jun 17, 2024, 23:14

C'mon, who can resist French cuisine :ermm:

Jun 17, 2024, 23:16

Maybe he is following Suffolk’s formula …..a heavier forward is a better forward….pass the rôti de porc.

Racing 92 owner Jacky Lorenzetti said on Monday former South Africa captain Siya Kolisi was "invisible" in the weekend's French Top 14 playoff defeat to Bordeaux-Begles.

The Parisians lost 31-17 on Sunday condemning back-rower Kolisi to a trophyless season in his first campaign with the club after April's Champions Cup last-16 loss to eventual winners Toulouse.

"He put on a few kilos, lost his form and yesterday he was invisible," Lorenzetti told specialist website Rugbyrama.

"We missed him," the 76-year-old added.

Kolisi, who told AFP last week he had gained 5kg before losing it again, arrived in the French capital after lifting a second straight Rugby World Cup with the Springboks.

The 32-year-old was brought in by six-time French champions Racing on a two-year deal as a replacement for, among others, ex-France flanker Wenceslas Lauret.

"At back-row we had been used to seeing an ultra-present warrior like Wenceslas Lauret," Lorenzetti said.

"For now, Siya isn't making us forget him.

"But we think next year, it will change," the Frenchman added.

Racing, without a trophy since 2016's Top 14 success, have signed ex-England captain Owen Farrell as well as France forwards Demba Bamba and Romain Taofifenua for next season.

They have reportedly agreed a deal for Kolisi's fellow South African, Stormers' back-rower Hacjivah Dayiamani.

.Kollisi is mainly there because of his reputation and status

Truth be told....

.Kollisi is mainly there because  his reputation and status he's a political choice.

Jun 18, 2024, 20:01

Dumb fucking owner has probably never played a game of rugby in his life

Utterly clueless

Jun 18, 2024, 20:11

Just four years after assuming control of the club, Lorenzetti had established Racing as one of the top sides in European rugby.’

…..sure Dave what does he know.

Jun 18, 2024, 20:17

How the fuck would the owner have anything to do with performance of the side other than splashing out cash for players and coaches

Jun 18, 2024, 20:37

Siya is not the player he used to be….ever since he became Captain, his game has deteriorated more and more….Rassie substituting him very early in many games, did not help his Rugby….he is literally the golden egg of SA Rugby and the Government….how else can you explain his inclusion??? There is no way in hell he is out performing a Kwagga, van staden or the new guns like Roos or Cameron that can play 6 much better than he ever did….he is very nice guy and liked yes, but that is unluckily not portrayed in his Rugby play….he is to busy in his fame as the first Black captain, which I have no problem with, his lack in player form or leading by example in his Rugby play is the biggest problem.

Jun 18, 2024, 21:05

What utter horseshit you are speaking

Kolisi had a good WC that was not that long ago

Jun 20, 2024, 16:45

True, 2019 seems like a blink of the eye ago.

Jun 20, 2024, 19:25

With the new coalition Govrnment one wonders wheter the Minister of Sport may not be a DA member.   If that happens tata to quotas,  ]\

Now another question - I know there aere Hanekoms living  in the Paarl area - so wh ere did Hanekom, Roos and Louw went to school?
