BB

Thanks for the clip.   I th ink the panel is trying to divert from what they fear would happen - but they also know that the odds is on the Springboks wining the test,

So what is the odds on the Springboks beating the AB's?

They don’t sound very hopeful.

Aug 20, 2024, 16:39

Why would they have hope? It's a Rassie Erasmus coached team that includes the great Springbok legend Pieter-Steph du Toit!

"& we picked 4 number 9s"

There's some irony there. Like I said earlier, if we win this RWC it'll be despite Rassie, not because of him.

The initial selection of 4 scrumhalves, the decision to exclude Pollard from the original squad, the selection of Am to replace Mapimpi when we didn't use him even once, the 7-1 split for the final, the kick-and-hope game plan . . . all stupid shortsighted decisions made by an egotistical fool trying to prove he's some kind of genius.

Oh well . . . Go Bokke!

Aug 20, 2024, 16:46

Maaik...good odds, but not great. ..we beat them 2 in a row now...when last did we beat them 3 in a row? ...and to win both matches we must go to 4 in a row...has any team ever beat the Alblacks 4 times consecutively?

Aug 20, 2024, 16:48

Still posting my pre-WC Rassie quotes . . . even though I readily admitted I underestimated him . . . something you're clearly incapable of doing.

What a sad and pathetic loser!

LMAO!

Bokke! Rassie! Pieter-Steph!!!

Oh my gosh, how stupid are you….October 26 is not pre World Cup you ignorant fool. It started in September and wrapped up in late October. Those comments were made before we played all but one game.

Game, set and match again. All I have to do is respond and wait for the foot shoot.

Waaaaaaahahaha..  moron.

"has any team ever beat the allblacks 4 in consecutive matches?"

Australia hold this record of 5 consecutive wins between around 1927 to 1934

I don't like SA being so cocky, we have hardly ever created a dynasty and I don't think NZ is that far off the pace. They are still a formidable team and country when it comes to rugby. Probably don't have the depth like they use to, but other teams have become more professional which makes dominating at international level even harder.

NZ is the only team in the last 30 years to consistently dominate world rugby.

It is a good place for rugby because it is bets off when it comes to Ireland, NZ and SA. You can throw France in there too. England is kind of trying to emerge, but they have to much infighting.

Wales and Australia is a spent force and it will take a decade for them to recover.

NZ was one point away, they had 2 kicks to win the World Cup.

It is great when beat NZ, I want us to continue to beat them this year and would love to see 2-0, but Rassie couldn't even get that against a weaker Ireland, how is he going to get it against this team that beat Ireland in the quarters.

Ja, it's gonna be tough...I don't see us winning both against NZ...hopefully 1 and we better hope we're able to beat Argentina twice...that won't be easy either...it's not nearly in the bag yet.

The AB will be a danger as they mostly are….they must have the blue print beating the springboks by now, if you consider how long they have been dominant.

The change of Coach and loosing core players has put them back a bit. But to even consider that they have little hope in beating us, is a mistake and underestimating them.

Knowing guys like Kirwan and Wilson, this clip is most probably some kind of mind games….painting the picture of a vulnerable AB to give us a false sense of security.

The AB games will be very tight as usual and it will go down to the wire…the Springboks are not that much better but rather other teams not at there best!

We should have beaten the Irish 2 - 0 but we’re simply not good enough….we are not there yet in All facets and our new attack mojo not engrained to be second nature.

Rassie neglecting to build depth sooner, will hurt us in the long run… him desperately hanging on to the old WC glory core players, just shows how desperate he actually is.

We play Argie once only?

Aug 21, 2024, 09:40

Twice

Aug 21, 2024, 10:09

"We play Argie once only?"

One in Argentina and the last one at home.

It's hard to get a line on how good the Boks are simply because the Ozzies were poor and didn't really test them. I'm not too sure what to make of the ABs who are obviously a bigger challenge than the Ozzies but I expect the Boks will have to tighten up in all aspects. I liked the way the ABs massaged the maul and then launching their attack, clearly they are better at it than the Boks. Our defence has been good thus far and our attack is improving the ABs will notice since we've last played them that we now score tries.

So, an interesting start to the 1st test and hard to separate the two teams.

I hope we blow them away!

Manpower

As to the AB's it si not only the panel thatgot problems in whether they can breke the new SA code - ther are los of others as well.   Lets go back to the 2014  Johannesburg test as an example.     Before the Johannesburg test Hansen made a remark to the efect that he is unsure about the outcome.   He said that with Morne Steyn the team knew exactly what to expect from the game plan te Springboks will use - with Pollard as flyhalf they do not know what to expect. He was right - te Springboks won the test with Pollard himsrlf scoring 2 tries.   It was the only test won by the Sprigboks in a match against th A's while Meyer and Coetzee coached the Springboks.

I fact between 2008 and the  2018 there were no away test matches won by the Springboks  against the All Blacks - a dismal histoy to say the worst.   In 2018 the Springboks won in Wellington and lost against the AB's by 2 points.    In 2019 the Springboks again in Wellington made a daw against them in Wellington and as a result won the RC.

I think what worry the AB's is what game plan te Springboks will use and they are worried how to counter that game plan.   When looking at the Wallaby tests the game plan of the Springboks became clear and slowy perfecting it is what the AB's are worried about.

As to the Irish test there were n indication of the new game plan of the Springboks and te test was lost because De Klerk made the silliest kick ever n the history of rugby - that kick booted him out of present squad slection by Erasmus and co.

Without mentioning him by name it is clear that they do nt know what to do with  Feinberg-Mngomezulu at flyhalf wil be up to and what Brown brings to the team iro attacking rugby.    They got used to Pollard at flyhalf and would prefer him to play - but F-M  is going to start in the first test and possbly in both tests,   He i likely the key player Brown wants in the team as flyhalf.    .

The Argentinians won only one test match in SA and that was in 2015 when they beat the then old SA team by 12 points.    It was a poor match and only the center pairing of De Villiers and Kriel malfunctioned badly.

I am very optimistic that the Sprigboks will wii both tests.     .

I agree it does count in our favour that we have added to our game plan….it makes us more unpredictable….
