Just to point out how rugby ignorant you lot are you are bitching about him being the captain - well bright sparks given the 15 selected who the fuck else would be captain huh?
The only other player to captain a side is Thomas and Buthelezi has on occasion so given this fact it makes perfect sense that Moerat is the captain having captained the Baby Boks and the Stormers for a few seasons now.
As Rassie mentioned - Moerat is a natural leader and a good rugby player

Kitsie was the regular Captain and lead the stormers when they won the URC title ….after Kitshoff left they announced Moetat as captain for the 23/24 season….because he is also a injury prone player, he hasn’t been Captain for that long and does not justify his selection at Bok level.
Dobbo used players like Fourie or Neethling Fouche a lot as Captain….Rassies Agenda is mostly to appease a Corrupt Government, that has managed to Destroy a South Africa to the condition it’s in now.

Moerat shouldn't even be in the team. He has only played 600 min all season and yet to play a full game.
His first class games are only at 30 and he is already 26 years old.
He has been hyped up from school boy level and has very strong political connected family who has a big influence over WP rugby. If you read the history, many of his family members feel hard done by.
I'm not saying he is a bad player, but I have watched all the Stormers games this season and can honestly say between him and Dweeb that the Stormers line out never worked well.

I was at a test match in Sydney watching the Boks vs Oz. Next to me was an Ozzie and his son, we had a chat after the game and I remember him saying '..... that #7 was everywhere,' he was referring to Mostert.

Mostert is shit - a physical liability end of. Physicality aside he is a bog ordinary player - name a single instance where he has impressed with ball in hand or made a great pass or run a great line? If he is a lightweight like he is then he should then be a special rugby player in other aspects

I am very pleased to see my stance taken just after th ANC came to power that merit selections were he only way to go and that selecting on the basis of race was racist. Clearly my arguments have won the day.
At the time Rooitwit said I was a Nazi etc (rooitwit had heard from somebody that Hitler an the nazis were bad dudes). It was hugely amusing that when Rooitwits unfortunate son didnt get a job because of affirmative action he flipped on the issue and was wailing away and very bitter.
That said one has to remember no Bok coach can ignore the expectations of Government. That is the unfortunate reality. Rassie brilliantly opted for Kolisi as captain and got the country behind the Boks. And no I don't think Kolisi was a great captain but he was well supported and carried himself with dignity and goodwill.
The first problem Rassie faces in selecting a Bok squad is to ensure there are sufficient people of colour in the team. Other Bok coaches crashed and burned not having the coaching and people skills to manage this. Rassie succeeded in making a band of brothers out of a diverse group of player who would lay it all on the line. We saw this incredible fighting spirit at the recent world cup. where one close match after another was won by a side that refused to lie down. It was a hugely inspiring effort for the people of South Africa and the team returned to a well deserved and massive heroes welcome.
I have not see Moerat play that often but my impression was he was a physical and competent lock. I am hoping we will stop playing locks who can't dominate physically. As Sean Fitzpatrick famously said South Africa's big athletic forwards are our competitive advantage or words to that effect.

A lack of physicality might be excusable as say an openside or an attacking minded bench hooker but not your lock. There is zero justification for a gruntless test lock especially in a Bok pack. What makes things worse is that Mostert is not even a gifted rugby player. There is absolutely nothing special about him.
I’ve said this numerous times, Rassie is by some distance the best coach we have ever had but he is not perfect - not by any stretch. His investment in useless Mostert is his biggest failing along with Orie and not investing in the likes of the du Preez twins, Jenkins, Wilco, Thomas, showing faith in Roos, his non selection of David Kriel and Ruben v Heerden
I do take comfort in the fact that Rassie is not completely blinded by Mostert in that he did realise that the more physical Lood was a better option and so at least picked a fit Lood ahead of Mostert
What I do find strange though is that RG is better than Lood so why is RG not starting ahead of useless Mostert? I can only think it’s because RG has been out of action for so long

Man, how on earth did this guy even make the bok team. He has no clear history, but rather a hyped up age group player. I have not seen any meaningful games or a highlight real to speak of. If you look at the likes of RG, Etzebeth, Lood or even Nortje, you can see these guys have impacts on their games. Be it big hits, hard carries or winning opposition ball. Instead, blessed with a darker tan, and able to get through a professional game, now became the bok captain.
He is already 26 and do you want to tell me that this guy is the replacement for Etzebeth?
Looks Rassie is caught between philosophies. With Nienaber defence and percentage rugby it is okay to select brain dead players, but I don't see how this guy will have an impact. Where on earth is Vermaak or Nortje
