Marcell Coetzee is all praises for Johan Ackermann's leadership style at the Vodacom Bulls. With Ackermann stepping into Jake White's big shoes, his honest and open approach has quickly won over the locker room. Coetzee shared, "What you see is what you get from the coach. He has an open-door policy, and for a player, that is what you want. The whole style is great so far, and I think the players are really enjoying it."

The Bulls, under Ackermann's fresh command, are gunning to finally hoist the Vodacom URC trophy after a string of near-misses, including last season’s crushing 32-7 defeat in the Dublin finale against Leinster. Coetzee reflected on the loss:

"On the day we just met a Leinster side that was hungrier, and we didn’t have an answer for that."

But it's not all doom and gloom as he added, "But in failure, you do get your learnings, and we’ve identified stuff that didn’t work for us and we want to continue building that towards the new season."

The Bulls are set to launch their URC campaign with a face-off against the Ospreys at Loftus Versfeld this Saturday, bringing a mix of seasoned strength and fresh strategy under Ackermann’s leadership. With past disappointments firmly in their rearview, the team is looking to pivot from lessons learned and drive towards a victorious season.

With a new era dawning at the Bulls, Coetzee’s enthusiasm about Ackermann’s leadership style isn’t just about the open doors. It's about fostering an environment where players feel supported and poised for growth. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on whether this fresh dynamic can translate into the long-awaited URC triumph.
