Ex-Wales and British & Irish Lions fly-half Dan Biggar has thrown his support behind Tom Curry to be crowned Man of the Series after a string of vital performances for the Lions in their Australian tour. Initially, Curry's form was unremarkable, but he surged to prominence with game-changing displays in the critical Tests at Brisbane and Melbourne.

Despite underwhelming early outings, Lions' coach Andy Farrell kept faith in Curry, starting him at number seven in the first Test at Suncorp Stadium. Curry responded with a standout performance, including a key try. He continued his ascension in the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, not only scoring another pivotal try but also making a crucial, game-saving tackle on Joseph Suaalii when the Wallabies were poised to extend their lead.

"That intervention on Suaalii was critical. If he doesn't make that tackle, the game's over," Biggar reflected.

Biggar lauded Curry's resilience and impact, noting, "Let’s compare his tour matches, six, six and a half (out of 10). But when it really counted, he’s up somewhere near a nine, isn’t he, for that? So, had a brilliant, brilliant tour."

Curry's backup, Jac Morgan, also received praise from Biggar after a significant stint off the bench that included a controversial clear-out during the dying moments of the game. This action led to the Lions' match-winning try, and Biggar felt the officials made the right call by not penalizing Morgan.

"I looked at it and thought he’s going to be really unlucky to be done for that. And I don’t think it was foul play," said Biggar.

Biggar expressed relief and satisfaction with the referee's decision, emphasizing the importance of the moment for Morgan, "I was just over the moon that it wasn’t a defining act for him."

As the Lions series against Australia progresses, the performances of players like Curry and Morgan under high pressure are exactly what can tilt the scales in their favor, showcasing not only their skills but their ability to rise to the occasion when it matters the most.
