Kitshoff a 3 no fucking ways he was up against Furlong often regarded the best tighthead in the game
Useless Mostert ahead of PSDT at 7 come on - geez that’s a poor call
While PSDT did not have a great game he did against NZ and Scotland
Mostert on the other hand has done nothing game after game and the guy has fuck all grunt - why on earth would you want him at 7
You are wrong about Moodie’s defence he is pretty solid in that department

Okay I have now watched the game for a second time and was able to confirm impressions and develop a few new ones…..double proof:
Willemse 7. He was our best back, but not necessarily a great fullback on the day. That had to do with positional play…eg the up the line kick from Lowe he was too deep for…..I still think center is his position.
Kolbe 5….very quiet and not as explosive with the ball. Some of the magic seems gone. Is Mapimpi the better bet going forward.
Kriel 6….he went through a mountain of defensive work, but toothless ball in hand. So do we opt for Moody who is by far the better attacking player but not a great defender. Hard call….I think I’d go for Willemse at 13.
Dud Allende 5….he had one good moment when he bowled over Sexton. The Bundi controversy aside he was okay defensively without doing anything meaningful and he wasted so much ball
Arendse 5 was outplayed by Lowe, but still dangerous..hard to drop at this stage.
Libbok 4….he made the Bok try unnecessarily risky and really didn’t do much else. His tackling was worse than his goal kicking. He did put a brilliant penalty out on the corner though. A talent but this is not his stage.
Faf 5… the usual grab bag of good and bad things. More bad than good in this match. But he brings so much energy I wouldn’t drop him.
Kitshoff 3….a very flaccid scrumming performance against a vulnerable opponent. Ox has to get a starting shot against Tonga. He looks to be the most destructive scrummager at the tournament
Bongi 4….a few poor throws and little to write home about in general play
Malherbe 4….a few classical belly flops, but actually made some good tackles.
Etzebeth 7…. Massive in the first half, a bit off the boil before he left..but stolen balls, charge downs, open field tackles. Hell of a player.
Mostert 5….a relatively quiet game, but some good hits and lineout steals.
Kolisi 3 …..he tried to get involved in the mauls but he was subbed early for a reason
Dud Toit. 4….some good lineout steals including a key one early near the Bok line. But poor general play….handling and tackling. This man is a mobile lock but a clumsy loosie. The easiest guy to tip off the ball.
Wiese 3…I’m losing elevation on this guy. He has a charge into the defense but nothing more. When you compare his skill set to Vermeulen it’s so limited.
…. ……
So what’s our QF team. I’d start this team against Tonga and assess further:
Le Roux
Arendse
Willemse
Esterhuizen
Mapimpi
Pollard
Faf
Ox
Bongi
Nyakane
Etzebeth
Snyman
Kwagga
Mostert
Vermeulen
And I’d get a real hooker into the squad. My bench would be a 5/3 split
Kitshoff, hooker, Malherbe, dud Toit, van Staden, Reinach, Libbok, Moodie
