Eddie Jones, mastermind behind Japan's rugby strategy, recently dished out some strong opinions on England's latest performance against Australia, drawing parallels to the formidable South Africa squad. Under the leadership of Steve Borthwick, the English team clinched a 25-7 victory at the Allianz Stadium, showcasing a level of dominance that left the Wallabies in the dust.

England, who only held a slight lead at halftime, exploded in the second half thanks to impactful substitutions. "England, I thought again, looked a bit like South Africa," Jones stated on the Rugby Unity podcast. He emphasized how England outplayed Australia in nearly every facet of the game, from breakdowns to tactical plays.

"They beat Australia to the punch on nearly everything, breakdown, and tactically it was hard ever to see Australia getting any little advantage."

Despite some brief sparks from Wallaby Allan Alaalatoa and Rob Valetini, Jones noted that these moments were fleeting and hardly threatened the English stronghold. The real game-changer came from England's bench, which Jones referred to as "monsters," highlighting players like Ellis Genge and Will Stuart for their physical prowess.

"When you bring Curry, Genge – you see the size of him, he had to cut his shorts to fit into them – he looked like a monster, and he looked like he’s brooding, and he was ready for it," Jones remarked, impressed by the sheer physicality that overwhelmed the Australians.

The impact of England's wings was not lost on Jones either. He praised Tom Roebuck and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso for adding a new dimension out wide, complementing Freddie Steward's sharpened performance at the back.

Adding to the strategic mix, Jones commended Lee Blackett for enhancing England's attack, aligning well with the team's robust kicking game. "The English attack was a lot straighter; they’ve got Lee Blackett, who’s a pretty sharp guy, and he seems just to straighten their attack up a little bit, which suits their kick early, kick hard, chase hard and contest the ball type of game," Jones analyzed.

England's next challenge lies ahead as they prep to face the All Blacks, with the team hoping to carry forward their monstrous momentum. Meanwhile, Eddie Jones continues to watch closely, his insights as sharp as ever, potentially hinting at what could be a transformative era for England Rugby under Borthwick's guidance.
