Former England fullback Ben Foden isn't losing sleep over Ireland's chances as the Six Nations heats up, despite their rocky start. With the Irish set to clash with England at Twickenham this Saturday, both teams are looking to salvage their Six Nations campaigns after less-than-stellar performances. England is licking its wounds after a bruising defeat by Scotland, while Ireland's lackluster showing against France and narrow victory over Italy leaves much to be desired.

Speaking with a sports betting provider, Foden shared insights on the psychological approach Ireland might adopt.

"The big thing Andy Farrell is going to be saying is that Ireland are not out of the title race. They’ve got to believe that they can go to Twickenham and put themselves in the running,"

he stated. He further noted the challenges ahead for both teams, with England needing a win in France and the French still to face Scotland.

Foden also commented on Ireland's current squad dilemmas, especially the selection headaches caused by the promising performances of James Lowe and Rob Baloucoune. Meanwhile, Sam Prendergast's shaky form has stirred debate among fans. Foden feels that Ireland is in a transitional phase but is far from hitting the panic button.

"I’m not worried about Ireland,"

he confidently remarked. "I think they’ll bounce back. They’ve got injuries. I don’t think they’ll ever be like Wales in terms of having a complete reset and restructure, which could take years. Ireland might dip for a year, but they’ll be back pretty quick."

Despite the setbacks, Foden praises the Irish for their depth and style of play, predicting a swift return to form. His parting words were a stark reminder to the doubters: "Don’t write Ireland off." As both teams prepare for their upcoming encounter, the stage is set for what could be a defining moment in their Six Nations campaigns.
