….in a clear try scoring position. But Dweba runs over him for a try. What do we make of that?

Interesting game. The ball handling was  better than we see from the Boks. But the defense, particulately the goal line defense is 2 leagues weaker. Likewise ball protection.

Hard to say who looks like a future Bok. Certainly Fouche is a hell of a performer in general play. Roos is not improving much, he looks pretty ordinary out there. On the day Old man Coetzee at the Bools looked better than any of the youngsters. And Bongi was perhaps our most convincing right forward when he came on.

Among the backs Venter looks good and Goosen  is having a great Indian summer at the Bools. Kriel seems to have found confidence after his brother did well at the WC. Gelant and Fassi had their usual mixed performances, they just don’t inspire confidence even if there are a few good touches.

Roos is back after a jaw fracture and got hit in the head...dat die bloed spat...illegal tackle, penalty try...and Dweba's vettie momentum bounced over the line for the try...not much running involved there...

Give Roos a bit of time...it looks like he's your next pet hate...good for him, if PSDT's career is anything to go by...

Roos was good, Fassi was excellent as was Gelant

The in out by Dweba on Fassi was excellent - I’m sure it’s the last thing Fassi expected from Dweba - it was hardly and out and out miss - mitigation in place - was great by Dweba

Ruben v Heerden at lock is the best lock currently playing in SA. Good to see the aggressive Moerat back

David Kriel is not Jessie Kriel’s brother, he is a youngster making waves at tye Bulls who’s younger brother was playing against him for the Lions on the wing - he to had a good game

My mistake …thanks for the Kriel correction Dave.

Stop whining Draad, I have nothing against Roos….but I can’t see  signs of progress. Five meters out a flank on a fullback could have made a better effort.

Moz if that was the case everytime a forward is 5m away from the line with a back defending they would score

Reality instead sees them probably score about 5% of the time. Why - because backs spend hours in the gym and are more than capable of handling big forwards

I always marvel at how seldom a monster like Etzebeth makes only a little impression on all the defenders out there and that applies to any modern player

Gone are the days that forwards blast backs out of the way. Sure it happens sometimes but that will be more that the attacker hits an unbalanced defender

Credit must go to Fassi for making the correct call and being brave enough to take on Roos who we know is a powerful lad. A season ago - Fassi would have bounced off Roos

You're the one constantly complaining like a little girl...you've got valid points, but you seem to get lost in some sort of glass half empty BS all the time.

Not the glass half empty…..the ‘we could be better’ philosophy. A passion for improvement, to be all that you can be, versus being a groupie.

We won WC2007  and then basically disappeared as a factor for 12 years, with a mediocre win/loss record. Why? Because having won the WC every participant was allowed to indulge their wishes. Luke Watson’s selection was a prime example.

If we had a winning  philosophy we would have kept Jake and looked for ways to be even better. When we won WC 2019…our ambition should have been to confirm that win, but again the following years had an  unfocused Erasmus, who immediately handed over the reigns.

Now he is committed for 4 years, at least one good thing….as is the hiring of competent backline help, something we should have done 4 years ago.

With the addition of  huge new talent pools to the Bok cause we have become more formidable. Our ambitions should shift accordingly higher. We should start to think like winners.

Jake was utterly useless leading up to the WC and was saved by Eddie - this is a fact

Jake was on the verge of being sacked leading up to the WC but instead they chose to bring Eddie on board

SA rugby knowing this fact were never going to keep Jake post WC - why would they - he was failing

The world credited Jake for the win but the powers that be and those in the know knew differently

If we had kept Jake it would have been a disaster for Springbok rugby - so lets forget about the IF  story.    IF never happened.   Based on the fact that White did not get the Aussie coaching job  - he breached his contract with the Brumbies and the next year he was appointed for a year and got fired becaue he buggered up badly as a coach.   In any event White is a one-dimensional coach - of backline coaching he has zero knowledge.

So lets play Mozart's IF game - IF Erasmus was appointed in 2012 instead of Meyer - SA  would have won the 2015 RWC as well.

Nah…he needed Meyer’s team, an amazing  11 of his WC starters were groomed by HM.
