On the third day of the high-octane North-South Rugby Tournament, Garsfontein High School showcased their resilience and tactical prowess by securing a nail-biting 31-28 victory over the formidable Paarl Boys’ High. Coming from behind not once, but twice, Garsfontein demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with in schoolboy rugby.

The match kicked off with Paarl Boys’ High seizing an early lead, displaying a blend of power and precision. However, Garsfontein was not to be outdone. They roared back with a trio of tries from Justin Blom, Stefan van der Vyver, and Yuvrah George, flipping the script to lead 24-21 in the second half. Monument High School was in scintillating form as well, running in 11 tries to overwhelm HTS Drostdy 75-43 in a high-scoring affair that saw both Blessing Monareng and Ruan Genis bag hat-tricks.

"The boys showed tremendous heart and determination to come from behind and clinch this victory,"

a Garsfontein coach noted post-match, reflecting on the gritty performance.
