Given the squad our best test 23 is:

15. Willemse 14. Kolbe 13. Am 12. de Allende 11. Arendse 10. Pollard 9. Hendrikse 1. Ox 2. Marx 3. Malherbe 4. Etzebeth 5. RG 6. Kolisi 7. PSDT 8. Wiese

16. Bongi 17. Steenkamp 18. Thomas 19. Elrigh Louw 20. Kwagga 21. Williams 22. Fassi 23. Moodie

Second half - PSDT to lock, Louw to 7, Willemse to 12, Moodie to 13 and Fassi to 15

Oct 23, 2024, 00:03

Dud Toit to lock….Dud Allende to flank.

Oct 23, 2024, 00:23

Well given how good DA and PSDT have been of late, they probably could play anywhere

PSDT right now is regarded as the best player in the game and rightly so

But you don’t rate him - the ultimate evidence that you are rugby clueless

Oct 23, 2024, 00:57

No I just think he is a lock playing out of position, but there are better locks.

Oct 23, 2024, 08:58

Ah so he is not doing a brilliant job at 7 then?

So good there that he is by some distance the best blindside in the game right now with many saying he is the best player in the game right now

You are right and 99% of the rugby followers out there are wrong - I get you Moz - it all makes sense now

Oct 23, 2024, 14:00

I am a 100% sure that Franco will be on the bench or he will start.

Otherwise Erasmus would not have picked him to tour with.

The rest of your team doesn’t look bad. For the Scotties, I would start 1. Steenekamp 2. Jan Hendrik 3. Tank with the incumbents on the Bench.

Oct 23, 2024, 17:30

What does a 7 do:

1 Ball carrier….he is average to poor.

2 Offloader, link player…average, possibly because of coaching.

3 Contest the ball on  the deck….he is poor at that.

4 Participate in mauls….above average

5 Take some lineout….he should be good but mostly is average

6 Primary first phase defender….excellent, but that’s not true of defending in space

So we have a player who has cemented a brand image. Every time he makes a tackle it’s embellished with drivel about his engine from the commentators. It works. He had a poor game against France, but we never heard a word about it….goes against the given wisdom.

I think he is effective…but sporadically. Poor against France and England…he was very focused against the ABs and Barrett stupidly gave him a target. So he had a great, but narrow game. Did he make one turnover, did he beat one tackle….nope…but he almost matched Mostert’s tackle per minute productivity.

But the image is now an asset. The opponents are wary of the Dud. So should we replace him now? Probably not because there is no blindsider who has made a case. That doesn’t mean he is ticking all the boxes. He isn’t.

Oct 23, 2024, 17:50

Moffie was just plain wrong again . . . just as he was wrong about Cheslin Kolbe, Andre Esterhuizen, Aphelele Fassi, Pieter-Steph du Toit and so many others. When this clown boasts about "sticking with Moz", just have a laugh.

Oct 23, 2024, 17:54

He was anti Jaque Fourie for years...preferred AD Jacobs.

Oct 23, 2024, 17:58

Moz, I don’t like being a gadfly, but your take on a few players is so bias, I can't help myself...not much difference in your opinion of the "duds" and Maaik's stance on AE.

Oct 23, 2024, 17:59

Yes, anti-Jaque Fourie, anti-PSdT, anti Cheslin, anti-Fassi, anti-Esterhuizen and pro-Meyer Bosman!

LMAO!

Oct 23, 2024, 18:04

Oh and to add to that, Moffie's idol was Marius Joubert who had one great test match against the Wallabies and forever after was a hand flapping, tackle-missing loser. One of the weakest #13s the Boks have ever fielded.

"Stick with Moz"

LMAO!

Oct 23, 2024, 18:59

Well Joubert did get a hattrick vs the Allblacks, but although I liked the Joubert/Flekkie (sorry, it was De Wet Barry, I think) paring at one stage, they were nothing compared to Jean/Jaque and DdA/Kriel-Am.

Oct 23, 2024, 19:22

Robbie Fleck was another very hyped up #13 who could never stay on his feet.

Yes, Joubert got that hat trick of tries against the All Blacks but have you watched them? They were walk-ins. Tell me anything remarkable he does in one of those tries.

Oct 23, 2024, 19:45

Draad I thought you didn’t really like Rooinek?? But here you are teaming up with him, just to get at Moz?

Geez dude that’s quite false….

Oct 23, 2024, 23:48

So all very interesting but my 6 point scale is more objective. As for Marius Joubert….30 tests/9 tries.

If  Dud Allende was as productive he would have scored 25 tries he has scored 11.

If Am was as productive he would have scored 12 tries he has scored 7

If Kriel was as productive as Joubert he would have scored 18 tries in 60 tests. It took him 77.

And all of these players were in a much more successful Bok team. Marius was playing  in the Destroyli disaster.

,….

So forgive me if I don’t think too much of (sic’s) take on Marius. As for Draad, he tries to be conciliatory. Admirable. But he chooses his allies poorly.

Oct 24, 2024, 00:03

Moz you might have 7 points but it means fuck all when your answers are a load of shit

PSDT is a great ball carrier

Not the job of a 7 to be a link player but of late we have seen some great offloads given his new found role out wide

Joke that you think it’s the role of a 2m player to contest balls on the ground

Given his physicality he is great in the mauls and maul defence

His line out work is excellent, on par with any other Bok

He is a great defender

Oct 24, 2024, 00:07

As for Joubert vs our current centres - comparing their try scoring strike rates is a laughable given the different era’s

Far more space in Joubert’s day

Am is twice the player Joubert was and I’d take Jessie Kriel over Joubert but only just - I liked Joubert

Oct 24, 2024, 01:30

"Draad I thought you didn’t really like Rooinek?? But here you are teaming up with him, just to get at Moz?

Geez dude that’s quite false…."

I don't like the way Rooinek treat people...I also don't like the way Moz carries on about Rassie and his other pet hates...that doesn't mean I can't agree or disagree with either of them...it depends on how 'n view the facts at the time...I actually try to be truthful...and fair, regardless of who the posters are...

...and Moz, you know as well as I do that I will never have an alliance with Rudehole...too much water under the bridge...he's just wrong too much...and there's no alliance with Maaik, I just cut him a wee bit of slack for my own reasons...and I'm not asking for anyone's approval for it.

So no, M, I'm not false...I was actually factual,  the fact that that I was in agreement with Rudehole is inconsequential...ask him, we're still not pals...and BTW, I also disagreed with his take on Joubert in that very discussion,  if you look close enough...

Oct 24, 2024, 02:35

Ok DB that is why it kind of shocked/surprised me a bit….not specifically because of Rooi and your guys history, more because us Boland Boys are not like that:)

I can also understand that sometimes criticism towards Erasmus can be a bit much.

But like I said on a other thread, for me personally it’s because I expect more.

That might sound selfish, but for me it’s more about being committed. And right now I am not not a happy chappy with Rassie.

Most probably also that Rassie mainly says he is open about his agenda, but I think he is not transparent enough with us the devoted supporters, about his plans.

Honestly we’re it not for all of us the Rugby supporters, none of the Players or Coaches can have there success and happiness in there Rugby careers.

They sometimes forget that to quickly!

Mpower

Erasmus is ot a good enugh coach and when it comes to Mozart  he once bragged that he is the ebst player performance analyst in the world and that he never saw anything good of his petty hate players,

His hatred  of Du Touit started 11 years ago when he supported the returned of Matfield from retiement - proving to be a real disaster - and som members suggested that a better move would be to use Du Toit instead,   His hatred of De Allende followed soon aterwards.    He also bragged that he enver see anything positive done by Du Toit and De Allende because he did bnot to see it,   When challenged  he lied about what happened in incidnts.

His comments on Erasmus can be summarized by his 2018 that SARU made a mitak by appointing Erasmus and they should rather retained Coetzee a Head Coach - since then his BS on Erasmus increased into a farce .

Draad I thought you didn’t really like Rooinek?? But here you are teaming up with him, just to get at Moz?

Weird thing to say, MPower. Just because you agree with someone doesn't mean you're "teaming up" with them. You simply hold a similar opinion on an issue.

There's enough of the "you said this, so you are <insert group designation>" madness going around out there. Don't succumb to it.

Oct 24, 2024, 07:42

PS...I have never intentionally insulted Moz or questioned his character...I question his opinion on certain issues.

Oct 24, 2024, 07:54

No Pakie not weird I am just a straight shooter. It was clarified by DB.

Nov 03, 2024, 07:10

Poor mampara power only criteria for commenting is whether he likes someone or not. Draad can't state Moz is wrong because that means Draad is supporting Rooitwit.

It's obvious poor Mampara is a terribly biased poster whose views of Rassie and Du Toit indicate he doesn't understand the hame.

Today his has become Mozzietards echo having replaced poor Doos.

Mampara is not haply with Rassie. Two RWC wins in a row. Aions series win. Two Rugby Championship wins etc make Mampara not happy about Rassie.

These two losers are hilarious. Imagine if they tried to post their drivel on any other South African Rugby website or indeed any rugby website. People would be astonished at their ignorance, I truths and bias. :D

Poor old HasBeen….the nightmare of possible Kamala Harrassmiss victory is driving him back to the rugby board..

Nov 03, 2024, 15:44

He is trolling Moz….Beeno Biscuits is very lonely….shameful attempts…

Nov 03, 2024, 16:01

HasBeen is all in on a Trump win….most anybody else says it can go either way. A mountain of egg awaits…hahaha.

Nov 03, 2024, 17:35

Is Trump now a rugby player?

Nov 03, 2024, 20:48

If anybody else was asking that question I would think it was rhetorical. In your case I’m not sure. So just in case, no, I don’t believe he is. He is in his late seventies after all.
