So the AB team Eluckmiss played had the second worst record for all coaches who played 10 or more games. And of course the Aussie teams he faced were nothing like the Aussie teams of years gone by.

Still the NH is better. But were they? Neither France nor Ireland won a WC knockout game and the only team that did, England, did so against lowly Fiji… all the others, Wales, France and Ireland failed at the first hurdle.

By contrast White won his WC in one of  NZ’s best periods, under Henry. An 85% winning AB team vs Foster’s 70% winning team.

These are views you won’t get from the moronic rugby press, but  performances have to be judged against the opposition.

Hansen was the AB version of Fergie.

Razor is a beast but it's gonna take some doing to top Hansen.

Moz, I feel as though the Boks will properly test the ABs for the next decade. WC wins aside, it does feel as though in terms of cohesion, identity, and talent, we are hitting rich vein at the moment.

Combine that with the low level of competition that the AB clubs are exposed to, and it seems the Boks could very well be in the pound seat.

Regardless, I'd be happy for us to take a dip for a year or two, if it means that in the long run we draw the best out of these exciting backs we have.

Mozart

Have you got anything  to write about that does not represent an attack on Erasmus - you suffer from extreme  BS on the brain sickness - it is getting extremely boring.

Feb 20, 2024, 08:41

Mike its called Rassie Derangement Syndrome. RDS Very similar to TDS. The sick person gets detached from reality and fixates on somebody to vent their BS. No evidence or reason can get through to them.

Yes Plum we have a rebuilding phase but some very exciting players coming through.

Should ou Rassie lose a few tests expect he derranged mozzietard to be all over us like a nasty rash. What a fake Bok supporter this nutter is!

I thought the wee abs looked a very useful side in the RWC. Their forwards were better than usual. Scrum was very solid, they have some big lads.

Ou mozzietards has dug a deep hole for himself and is about to reach China. Hahahahahahahahahaha

If the oak had any sense he would just pipe down about Rassie. What happens if Rassie wins a third RWC. Doubtless the mampara will continue smearing Rassie and trying the demean his achievements. Mozzietard and Doos have very bad cases of RDS. In my view its terminal. Gun And Cigar Smiley

Ian Foster on paper is certainly one of the worst, but the All Black pack has declined in talent.

Even towards the end of Steven Hansens tenure, the All Blacks became beatable as more teams were winning against them than ever before.

The form of the All Blacks in the last 5 years has been directly tied to Retalick. If he is fit and and inform, the All Black pack could always compete. Whitelock has also past his best, so the All Blacks need some new tight forwards,

Feb 20, 2024, 10:32

Foster has always been average the AB’s can thank their lucky stars they have a class bunch of players on board

Their team now is as good as any they have ever had in some respects better like at lock, the Barrett brothers, Savea, Smith etc

Ireland and France are the best or close to the best they have ever been, same applies to Scotland, Italy, Fiji and Argentina.

England under Eddie Jones were very good and are now transitioning under Borthwick

And yes Mike is right - Moz your attempts to try discredit Rassie are reaching new lows.

Fact is Rassie is the best coach the Boks have ever had and one of the best coaches to have ever coached the game. A third WC win will cement him as the best coach ever - roll on next WC

Feb 20, 2024, 13:09

Yes roll on and let’s hope for a final where one side isn’t playing half the match a man down.

Feb 20, 2024, 13:16

Plum the transition to a different style will be tricky. The reflex will always be to go back to what has worked. The trick will be to maintain the skills we rediscovered under Eluckmiss…..defense in particular….and add new basics like offloading.

To me our biggest omissions are forward ball carrying, the downside of Dud Toit and fetching, another downside of Dud Toit and also Kolisi.

If we want to emulate Ireland’s game for example, having a more aggressive ball on the ground game and some forwards who can beat tackles will be essential.

I do think Ireland is the model. Not radical, still based on forward strengths. But with more backline innovation and way better forward handling.

If we can learn the Irish game plan with our superior athletes Bok rugby could genuinely become the best there is.

Feb 20, 2024, 17:52

And the other side playing with a man down for 20 min including the last 10 and playing 78 min without a specialist hooker

I’ll say it now - Rassie being the genius coach that he is WILL win a 3rd WC in a row.

Feb 20, 2024, 17:56

Why the fuck would we want to play like Ireland?

Ireland will tour in a few months and we will beat them 2-0 and you want to follow their model

The notion that we can’t offload is a joke - we just choose not to for obvious reasons and our forwards are better skilled than any Irish are.

PSDT is phenomenal and Kolisi is a class act

Feb 20, 2024, 17:57

"Yes roll on and let’s hope for a final where one side isn’t playing half the match a man down."

Not our doing, and we've been on the opposite of the luck many times...we got the job done...well done Team RassieBokke!

Feb 20, 2024, 18:11

Squeaky Toy you are putting me off my Tapas

Feb 20, 2024, 18:11

We need to get you on the advertising, Saffex. You know, seductively eating a spoonful of the stuff  ;)

Feb 20, 2024, 20:33

Is that your packaging Dave? If so, speaking as an old food industry guy,  I compliment you. Very upscale and I like  Panache as a Brand name.

Feb 20, 2024, 20:39

Yeah Moz thanks that is our product and business name

Feb 20, 2024, 21:32

The AB had very good Coaches….with higher win percentages, that we can only dream of…but Eventually Rassie did do what we all wished for ( Including the 3 Musketeers, you know who you are ) getting a proper Attack Coach and he is a Kiwi, even better :)….I will give Rassie Props for that…just give him the freedom he needs to operate….and on your Profile pic you don’t look fat Dave…but the pic does conveniently hide your Pudding cup :)

Feb 20, 2024, 22:12

Oh no ! Don’t start the  David’s weight conversation again !!!

I sometimes make waffles from a mix of oat fibre flour (100% fibre) and protein flower (70% protein) with a bit of standard flour to make it cook better. I use zero calorie and carb sugar, with 0% fat yoghurt mixed with zero calorie syrup. The oat fibre claims to have no calories, as well as no carbs.

It is the healthiest junk food ever.

Feb 21, 2024, 07:22

And here I was thinking Mike was all about the waffle.

Feb 21, 2024, 08:09

Shark what the fuck are you on about re waffles

And your photo of that ice cream is not ours - that’s definitely not a UK product

Yeah and?

Feb 21, 2024, 15:24

I just put the link up so other readers could find it.
The stockists look good, more places are selling your ice cream.

My waffle recipe was inspired by Auntie Sharkbok. :D

Feb 21, 2024, 21:15

Ah I got you - actually most of my business these days revolves around supplying restaurants, hotels, spa’s etc with ice cream. It’s non seasonal and far more personal

Selling directly to the public is obviously the best margins so we trade at some of the good London markets on the weekend. No overheads and the footfall is massive

We used to do Belgian waffles and ice cream over the colder months man they were awesome but unfortunately not that popular.

We kept it simple over the past two seasons doing a good old deconstructed apple crumble and custard and it’s been a game changer - but give me that Belgian waffle with vanilla ice cream any day

Feb 22, 2024, 23:38

Ian Foster was a piece of shit - End of Story.

We were all pissed off when he got the coaching role - And as it proved - Our concerns were very correct.

What a waste of 4 years.

Feb 23, 2024, 08:58

Yeah, I can see the ABs turning it around.

Still, you guys are playing against shit teams at the franchise level. It's a problem. And then what happens if the Boks join the 6 Nations and put RC on the backburner or bow out completely?

I mean, I know it was reported that SA won't join. But the success of the URC will get the money heads turning.

Dunno if anybody saw but the Boks are valued at about $360 million...which people are saying is a sizeable undervaluation. Also didn't see a post here about it...

Springboks on verge of multi-million dollar investment deal

In a statement released by the Ackerley Sports Group (ASG) on Thursday, the company confirmed that they are negotiating a partnership agreement to invest in South African rugby at all levels, supporting the professional game, and growing the revenue base of the Springboks and SARU’s commercial activities.

The statement revealed that ASG will invest in a Commercial Rights Corporation (CRC), which will hold all current and future revenue-generating assets of the Springboks and SARU. CRC will be majority-owned by SARU, with ASG taking a significant minority interest.

While ASG has not released the in-depth specifics of the deal, a United States media outlet Sportica reported that Ackerley Partners is poised to invest $75 million (R1.4 billion) in the governing body SARU.

Sportica also reported that SARU will be the majority owner of the new entity, while ASG will hold a roughly 20 percent stake, implying a total business valuation of £300 million.

The media outlet added that the deal is expected to be finalised in May pending the approval of SARU members.

Co-founder Ted Ackerley said that ASG intends to expand the Springboks’ global reach.

“We are excited to partner with a legendary global sports franchise like the Springboks,” said Ted Ackerley, Co-Founder of Ackerley Sports Group.

“Our collaboration will establish a worldwide expansion of the most iconic brand in rugby.

“This investment in the Springboks represents a unique opportunity for us to match the on-field success of the team with the resources needed to establish and sustain the franchise as a global powerhouse.

“We will bring decades of experience and passion for excellence with us while listening carefully to the people of South Africa to ensure that this team continues to reflect the history and culture of this amazing country.”

With the 2031 World Cup heading to the United States, a deal like this will be a major benefit for the Springboks.

There have been reports that SARU was in talks with Six Nations partners CVC Capital Partners.
