The final few minutes. Why the scrum penalty against the Boks. And why blow the whistle when the ball is out. In that final maul look at Irish number 4. Also who collapsed the maul. Why would we collapse the maul.

According to the rules of the game Ben O'Keeffe got the call right.

As for why you would collapse the maul? Well not intentionally but mauls can go down due to a number of reasons like a player loosing his footing under pressure.

Lol

I can show you at least 10 rucks from the Portugal Fiji match last night where the ball took longer to come out than Ben gave the Boks to retrieve it from that collapsed maul. he also made no attempt to see if Reinach was actually getting it out of the ruck. Didn't like that call one bit.

I'm not sad about the loss to Ireland though.

In some sense, I prefer it to having won and thinking everything is fine in the State of Denmark.

Also, Ireland is seemingly the best side at this competition...so to narrowly lose to them while the Boks were playing far from their best rugby doesn't sting too much.

As mentioned on another thread, I don't expect the Boks to get past France because we won't pick our best side and won't play our best rugby. The self-sabotage will see us fall short. AE/Moodie/Kwagga/RG won't start...and we'll lose as a result.

...and then I'll be supporting Ireland all the way. If not for your own side, how could you not support Ireland with what they are doing at the moment? It's as close to complete rugby as we've seen in ages.

If Ireland isn't your second team atm then I'm dubious as to your love for the game.

The AB one is basically your final Stav. I'm not expecting you to win, but I'm hoping you do.

The hope here is that the ABs fold under pressure again...but they're big rugby brains and they'll have a plan.

Plum you are too pessimistic about our chances against France. It's a game we are likely to win barring ref incompetence/crooking.

Yes the wee abs will most likely beat Ireland. I am worried poor StavAss will not survive the loss.

Ou blobbie is very bitter about something. Something is eating him up.

Oaks are taking RWC strain. Hahahahahaha.

Beeno, if we select the right players we'll win.

If we go with DDA and Kriel in midfield we're gonna lose. They cost us the Irish game.

We can blame Manie's kicking if we want but Kriel and DDA cost us scores in that game.

AA/Moodie was a net benefit every time they played while the one time DDA and Kriel started recently, it cost us.

It's very clear.

What you don't factor in is the superb defensive effort of Allende and Kriel. You can see people are having difficulty as to who should play because there are pros and cons.

We could start with Pollard, Allende and Kriel with Moodie, Kolbe and Willemse our back 3.

We could forget about kicks into the corner. Attempt to play in the French half and build our score.

I sus oect this might not be a game full of running rugby and high risk calls.

Tactics will dictate selection. We tend to do well in knockout rugby because we play it tight.

Look there are different ways to skin a cat. Rassie will consider it all. He is the most analytical guy you can imagine. Hope he finds the formulae.

AE is a better defnde than DDA as far as I'm concenred. He actually hits the midfield backward. He doesn't miss tackles, he's bigger, and he reads the game better.

There is no evidence to suggest that Kriel is a better defender than Moodie. Moodie has missed one tackle in all his outings for the Boks thus far(as I recall but I could be wrong). Kriel missed 2 in just the Irish game.

And on the attack, even if we're not playing lose rugby, AE and Moodie are still streets ahead of the other two.

Then there is momentum. Kriel and DDA are known for killing momentum, as they did on so many occasions against Ireland. And as we have been complaining about her for years. AE and Moodie ride the momentum and keep it rolling.

There is literally not a single type of game plan I can think of where I would have DDA and Kriel ahead of AE/Moodie.

Yeah, it's just my opinion but AE absolutely monstered the huge Tongan players time and time again, literally all game long. While DDA managed to run over Grandad Sexton once. It's night and day as far as I'm concerned.

One ref decision that may go against them and SA rugby are in dismay.

SA rugby with IR are the two sides that are showed as getting favours from refs.

Against SC: no review of the hezd to head contact

Against IR: deliberate knock on at start of the game, when IR wanted to take the lead with a try.

That was a absolute stuff by that ref….he saw the ball out, DA had in his hand, but still blew…..but on the other hand if we finished more of our chances that we got and put the points on the board , the F ..up Ref, s calls won’t bother us, and we will start winning.

Plum your center pair could be the best call. At this moment I can see Allende and Kriel  are tried and tested as a combo. AE and Moodie could be better.

Hope the best players are selected.
