I have a question? Is your name really Mike?

I ask this on behalf of myself… with respect.

With all your misspelt words, did you type your name in correctly when registering?

Like I mean it could be Terry or Ricky or even Lombumbo.

And I for one won’t be upset if you took time to correct it slowly!

I know your age and race have caught up with you so it’s hard to know write from wrong sometimes.

I’m here if you need to know how to update your name.

Chip...he's eyes were better when he registered 15 years ago...I hope you still try to post here when you're past 80...I promise I won't complain about the errors...probably because I'll be dead...but still...

It is obviously a nickname.   A Director of Tongaat-Hulett in the 1980's gave me that nickname when we served on a Provincial Advisory Commttee and somehow it stuck.   In 1987 a bridge on the M4 road near Umdloti washed away in a flood and they repaired the bridge.    Howeer, at a meeting I told the Provincial reps that there is a problem - I pointed out that the river changed its main flow line and the next flood would wash the road leading to the bridge away.again.   It must have hit home - they built a wier to safeguard the bridge accesss road that led onto the brdge whch was washed away during he flood,   Why did I knw the danger - I grew up on a farm adjacent to a river and notice that floods lead to main flow change  of rivers. 

I made mistakes in typing and I know the problem - I normally try and repair the damage  and found that somebody guessed my password and mess up my postings again - so I changed my password and  hope it would help to sort the problem  out.                         

Just so I'm clear Chippo, you're saying that the "mike" part of "clevermike" is the part of the name you have a problem with?

It is a bit like a basketball player calling themselves Tiny Tim.

These other people on this Provincial Advisory Commttee must have been really stupid.
Given the bridge had just washed away before getting repaired, it is pretty obvious that it could happen again.

Surely you would get engineers to look at a problem like this before deciding on the course of action instead of relying on the expertise of someone who once stayed near a river.

Any significant building project would require some architectural plans to gain government approval to commence such a job.

Sounds like DumbMike sold the contract ANC style instead of tendering it out so an expert could win the contract. That is how he got the name Clever.

Mike has over time earned his reputation for fair, objective and very well researched political commentary where he excels. He is also pretty sound when it comes to rugby. 

Hopefully he will improve the spelling issue. All it takes is reading the post before submitting the comment. 

We all make typos although the predictive texting or whatever it is can make a right mess of things.
