have gone unnoticed that in 80 minutes of the game the Boks failed to score a try and that all of their points came from the boot of one man.

Kinda think Houston has a problem.

According to Dave we dominated the second half…..it’s a strange kind of dominance that produces no tries. Yes, we have a problem, an aging team and a non  existent attacking game. We could keep our WC team and tactics and given we are playing an equally confused NZ team twice in RSA we could win the RC. But that would ultimately come home to roost before the WC.

Wow so you have to score tries in order to dominate a side - geez the rugby ignorance turns deeper

Which team scored more points in the second half huh?

Damn right we dominated the Irish in the second half and lost it in the end trying to protect the lead.

We changed tactics in the last 10 min. We changed things in the second half by running back at the Irish and it worked - Sacha was brilliant at this. Then in the last 10 we changed that and started kicking back at them instead of running except for v Staaden who fucked up and let the Irish back in our half

We have all the talent in the world, forwards and Backs….but they need to actually play at top level and a killer instinct needs to be instilled.

Yes it is very worrying that we could not even score one try given the amount of possession we had….the most worrying part for me was Rassie,s post match interview.

He still thinks Willie is the answer to our Attack in the future….yes Willie is a playmaker but he is over his best…for goodness sake let go of the old and grab onto the new younger inform players!!

He is holding on for dear life to this team and I am afraid it will not change….Deon Fourie,s inclusion in the WC 23 squad says it all.

It is almost like he doesn’t believe he can coach the young and upcoming stars the way we need to go….he will have to go out of his comfort zone and rebuild ASAP!

He has brown there to do the Backline stuff and he can do the Forward stuff …just do it already and get going, what is the Hold up?!

If we loose with a brand new team, so what we rebuilding….this is my main concern that he will try and carry more of the oupas to 2027 and take us even further backwards….let’s hope I am totally silly and wrong.

Yes I hardly think you are dominating if you don’t score tries. We had less than 50% of the territory or possession overall, even if we were well ahead in the second half.  And Ireland had 8 clean breaks to our 3. We never even threatened their line.

The Boks dominated the Irish in the second half and that’s a fact

Number of tries scored is not the measure of the dominance of a side in a game of rugby - fact

Jul 15, 2024, 09:01

We lost - fact.

No shit Blobie - your fucking input is as insightful as ever

Don’t give up your day job

grumpy old men....

How many times did the AB's beat us when Dan Carter single-handedly scored all the points?

I don't recall us commenting about about how the AB's had a problem when that happened.

All i recall is you two grumpy old men and clevermike complaining about the fact that the Boks lost to the AB's.

We have scored so many tries in the past 12 months.

We go 1 game without scoring a try and all of a sudden "Houston, we have a problem"?

Such a typical SA mentality. FFS man.

Jul 15, 2024, 12:25

Agreed Chip it is a bloody joke

If Kolbe had taken the pass he scores, if Kwagga had kicked the ball through instead of stupidly picking it up he could have scored

Opportunities created not executed - it happens

There isn't a known game where the All Blacks defeated the Springboks solely through Carter's kicks without scoring a try.

There was a Tri-Nations match on September 12, 2009, in Hamilton, where the All Blacks won 29-17 against the Springboks.

In that game, Carter contributed a lot with his kicking, scoring five penalties and two conversions, although the All Blacks did score tries as well.

Jul 15, 2024, 14:46

Name the test where the ABs beat us without scoring tries Chippie…I can’t recall one, but perhaps I have forgotten this occasion.

But in the space of 4 tests we have now won one against a 14 man NZ team and lost one at home against Ireland….both without scoring a try. So much for ‘one test’. Pretty pathetic.

The floor is your’s.

Jul 15, 2024, 14:54

Ah that 14 man bullshit again

Jul 15, 2024, 14:57

This is the disservice these marginal red cards do to a game the magnitude of a World Cup Final. There's forever a question mark over the result. These things should only be handed out in the most extreme circumstances in a once in four years event. The moment that card came out I said to my dad "there goes the integrity of the match, they've fucked it".

Jul 15, 2024, 15:01

Wrong Pakie the Kiwi’s were handed the opportunity to stay in the game the minute Bongi went off and was replaced by a make shift hooker - had that not happened the NZ side would have lost by a far bigger margin and you would have a case

Jul 15, 2024, 15:06

It's all speculation from that point on Dave. NZ were denied a legal try due to illegal TMO intervention. Etc. etc. Who knows. But give a yellow if you must give something. Unless someone does deliberately reckless shit like punching or kicking someone's lights out or putting a shoulder into a neck on the ground or whatever, keep the contest even. Don't red card marginal tackles that have no bad intent behind them in a World Cup Fucking Final.

Jul 15, 2024, 15:10

Absolutely, neither the Cane red nor Kolisi’s more dangerous tackle should have been red carded. But I guarantee you if Savea had done a proper Hollywood or had a bit of claret on his face, Kolisi was gone too…despite the ‘mitigation’ nonsense.

Jul 15, 2024, 16:25

Bullshit Pakie that was no try just as the try they did score was not a try either given the forward pass

I 100% agree that reds should not be given in any game other than a deliberate attempt to injury a player

But according to the rules - Cane’s was a red and Kolisi’s was definitely not a red

Jul 15, 2024, 18:20

There are no rules, just feelings. Some of the high ball interference on Saturday which resulted in penalties would have been red cards under some refs.
