When the Springboks and Italy clash in Turin this Saturday, expect an epic battle of the skies. Fresh off a triumph over France, the top-dog Boks are set to face a buoyant Italian squad that recently claimed a scalp against the Wallabies. Damian Willemse, South Africa's fullback sensation, predicts a much fiercer Italian team than the one they faced earlier this year.

Italy, currently sitting pretty in the 10th spot, is not the same team the Boks steamrolled in July with scores of 42-24 in Pretoria and a whopping 45-0 in Port Elizabeth. Willemse, who has donned the Bok No. 15 jersey impressively in recent times, including a notable 56-minute appearance against France, is bracing for a robust Italian challenge.

"Italy have really built their game – they’re an all-court team,"

said Willemse.

"It’s going to be a big challenge, especially in the air. That’s where the battle will start."

Indeed, the Azzurri are not to be underestimated with dynamic players like Ange Capuozzo and Lorenzo Cannone, who have been instrumental in weaving their on-field magic. The Italian wingers, Louis Lynagh and Monty Ioane, known for their aerial prowess and solid defense, are expected to give the Boks a run for their money.

"Set piece-wise, they're also strong and physical up front, so we know it's going to be a proper Test match," Willemse added, highlighting the all-rounded threat posed by the Italians. The Springboks anticipate a tough match, fueled by Italy's recent victory and bolstered confidence.

Willemse also shared his personal excitement about playing at the Allianz Stadium, a famed football venue. As a self-professed Arsenal fan, the experience holds special significance for him. "I'm a big football fan – so playing at the Juventus Stadium is going to be incredible," he expressed, eager to step onto the pitch that is home to Juventus.

With Italy charged up from their recent win and the Springboks looking to continue their dominance, Saturday's showdown promises to be more than just a routine test match. It's a high-flying, intense battle of rugby prowess waiting to unfold in the grand setting of Turin.
