It seems his steroid Allegations have been ignored for now.

Oom Daan sal weer bietjie moet sweep klap daar.

Nov 03, 2025, 21:03

Yeah I’m not sure why he is allowed to play or why he is even being selected with a drug hearing pending

Nov 03, 2025, 21:10

That’s not really in the spirit of the game, is it ?

Nov 03, 2025, 21:26

I don’t know if anyone else is noticing the madness in SA Rugby right now, but how is it that a player caught for Doping can be selected for the Springboks?

We talk about “integrity” and “equality,” but what we’re seeing looks like political window-dressing, not rugby justice.

The rules seem flexible when it suits the optics. Meanwhile, a guy like Jan Hendrik Wessels gets a nine week suspension over a dodgy accusation that no camera even picked up.

WTF…..

I don’t care what colour a player’s skin is, if you cheat you’re out. But the way this is handled stinks of bias and hypocrisy.

SA Rugby needs to decide: are we still a merit-based rugby nation, or are we now just ticking boxes and bending rules to please the headlines??

Besides, we already have three TH props in the squad. Why does Erasmiss select another one??

Nov 03, 2025, 21:43

Apparently he is eligible as his hearing is only in December. I guess if he hasn't been found guilty yet he can play. Not a good look though.

Nov 03, 2025, 22:03

Apparently the player’s “hearing is only in December”

Come on, the banned substance was found in his system. What more proof does a person need??

This is exactly how rugby loses credibility. When a doping case is treated like a technicality, it makes the entire selection process look compromised.

We’ve reached a point where discipline and accountability depend on who’s involved, not on the facts.

If a player tests positive, he shouldn’t be anywhere near a Bok squad until he’s cleared!!

Rassie is starting to look less like a rugby coach, but a pawn playing political games.

It seems to be about protecting certain interests at the cost of the Springbok name.

Integrity in rugby shouldn’t depend on politics or PR optics. If the rules don’t apply equally, then the whole system is a farce!

Nov 03, 2025, 22:06

He doesn’t look very fit !

Nov 03, 2025, 22:15

It highlights the pathetic call that Wessels has been banned

He is now really missed with Ox out

Nov 04, 2025, 01:17

How t.f. there's a conviction without evidence's beyond my comprehension ... is it a bonus if your players are more eloquent & better actors ?

Nov 04, 2025, 05:09

Ag Look Erasmus is just future proofing his pre retirement.

Nov 04, 2025, 07:11

They'd probably only pick him if they had the scoop and that he'll come through the hearing unscathed.

One would hope so anyway.

Nov 04, 2025, 10:53

Good to see the oaks at last agreeing about the absurd Wessels saga. I guess the anti Bok Cabal of Mamparas were overwhelmed by the facts and no no choice but to concede.

According to the law Jabba is allowed to play. But to the anti Bok nutjobs Rassie is wrong to pick him as it's a bad look. What a. bunch of losers.

By all means debate the merits of the selection as you surely know better. Unfortunately the record to date shows otherwise.
