A year or so ago we had this kid light up school boy rugby with his power and skill at 13

Last year he played in the Baby Bok side but was wasted on the wing and made little impression in an average side

This year in the U20 WC and the pre RC tournament he played in at 13, he really made an impression scoring in virtually every game he played in, in a side struggling to make an impression thanks to a completely incompetent coach

He displayed power, a step and some good hands and rugby intelligence

He is definitely one for the future. He is at the Sharks which is not ideal given they have Am, Esterhuizen and Hooker there

Poor Bruce Sherwood the impressive Bishops 12 was played out of position at 15 thanks to the fool that calls himself a coach

JF v Heerden was predictably good at lock as was Batho the big 7 from my school and Jacobs the 8 who is contracted to a French club

Boulle, one of the 12’s looked very powerful - reminded me a lot of de Allende, even looks a little like him

Porthen the tighthead looked ok as well

They were very poor at 10, with ex Bok Koen’s son at 10 - he was big, cumbersome and piss poor

Moodie and Julius are our future at 13

Jesus Koen was shit.

Worse ball player than his dad.

At least the old man could kick.

Sefoor was even worse.

Yeah I remember some guy on Next Gen saying Liam Koen was going to be the next big thing at 10

First time I have seen him play was this WC and as you say he is so shit

Far too big and gangly for a back - not athletic at all - looks awkward. Has absolutely zero going for him

Luckily our cupboard is full of good 10's.

And he's white. So he is very far down the pecking order.

BUT i do wonder how he made it in to that team. Are there really no other 10's better than him in his age group?

Both Ethan and Jurenzo are 20 and 21. Agree the sharks is a waste land for them team like the lions would benefit from having them. Give them a couple of years and cap them at 24. These guys could form a powerful midfield pair.

The sharks have the talent, but they don't know what to do with it.

Plumbers time is up. They should get a better kiwi coach. Not sure how many decent coaches are out there these days.

We don't see many coaches coming through anymore.

Johan Ackermann and Says was probably the last decent combo.

Plumbers probably get the sack half way through the season. Big expectations on him come September

Stuff waiting until they are 24 cap them now - our centres are old we need to find replacements

The only young player we have tried at centre is Moodie. Willemse is yet to wear the Bok 12 jersey

Against Portugal we should be playing two young centres. With Moodie and Henco v Wyk unavailable Id be very tempted to do a Pollard and play Jurenzo straight from the U20 WC like they did with Pollard

Julius in this under 20 WC has shown he has what it takes and at 96kg he is more than equipped for test rugby

At 12 I’d definitely play David Kriel - how the fuck he has not made an alignment camp is beyond comprehension.

I’d start Kriel at 12 and Jurenzo at 13 with Hooker on the bench. Or you could post Hooker at 12 and Kriel at 13 with Jurenzo on the bench or Kriel 12 and Hooker 13

I hope we see Jurenzo playing for the Sharks main side sooner than later but it’s a tall ask with Am, Esterhuizen and Hooker ahead of him at the moment
