When anybody saiy that De Allende was and is a better player at 12 - the site experts - with prejudice being the norm - thinks otherwise. After the 2014 test against Wales in 2014 during which De Villiers were injured - he played in two tests in 2015 - namely the home tests against Argentina and Japan in 2015 and both wer lost by the Springbks. Aplon was involved in the Sprimgbk team in tha period - whn De V illiers was in serious decline and that accordingly was dealt with by Aplon.
Who cares when Aplon played with DA he played with both DA and Jean and concluded that DA was not only better but also the best player he has ever played with
Schalk Brits in an interview said DA was the most talented player he had ever played with but that he plays to a plan

2023 Once again….nothing. Except he provides an honor guard to Mo’unga who makes a 4o meter break and hands off for a try that is reversed.
A long history of nothing. Not a secure tackler in space, no read of the game, beats tackles but hardly ever makes a break, desperately low on tries and try assists.
To compare this mediocre player with Jean is a joke.

Mostert should never have played for the Boks he is simply not physical enough and is hardly a gifted rugby player to offset that lack of physicality

Where they asked Gio Aplon to choose between Jean de Villiers and de Allende and Aplon was very apologetic to Jean saying he was a great captain but that de Allende was the best player he has ever played with - says he can do it all
How do we go from that to all the clowns on here not rating him - I just don’t get it
