First of all, Kitshoff is an incredible player and has been part of the foundation of both Stormers and bok success that was created under Rassie. In the pack we have Kokosi, Etzebeth, Malherbe and Kitshoff being the stappe of the Stormers and bok front row Malherbe. However it is a harsh reminder that not every rugby players gets a fairytale ending.
Given the amount of over 30s in the bok squad, the question is when and how fast will the rest follow now that Kitshoff were forced to retire.
Malherbe hardly strings more than 5 games together before breaking down. Etzebeth hasn't played for months and his concussion is way worse than originally led on.
Kolisi blows hot and cold when it comes to form and he is hardly a player you want to carry forward into the future.
Going wider than the stormers boys. We have Bongi who is getting close to 35.
We are lucky we have good forwards to cover, but losing half of them means that Rassie will lose half his bomb squad.
In also noted that Rassie is expanding his group even further but now is the time to refine his squad, not add more players.
Just hope Rassie can give the youngsters a proper crack to establish themselves and lessons his dependency on these veterans
