The Sharks are poised for a major shakeup as Coach JP Pietersen rolls out eight fresh starters for the upcoming clash against Munster this Saturday at Kings Park. Among the notable returns, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is set to celebrate his 50th cap for the Durban squad, signaling a robust attempt to climb from their current 11th place in the URC standings.

In a strategic move, Pietersen has rejuvenated the front row, introducing Phatu Ganyane, Fez Mbatha, and Hanro Jacobs, who are set to replace Ox Nché, Eduan Swart, and Vincent Koch following a tough 41-12 loss to the Bulls. The backline sees Grant Williams stepping in as scrumhalf for the injured Jaden Hendrikse, with Ethan Hooker rejoining the fray after a rest, partnering with captain André Esterhuizen in the midfield.

"We're injecting fresh legs and fresh ideas into the lineup, aiming to turn our fortunes around,"

Pietersen commented on the changes.

Further adjustments include Yaw Penxe taking up the right wing position from Edwill van der Merwe, while Sharks U21 sensation and Blitzboks newcomer Luan Giliomee is slated to replace Jaco Williams at fullback. In a landmark achievement, veteran Springbok wing Makazole Mapimpi will be donning the Sharks jersey for the 100th time.

The team reshuffle reflects the urgency to improve performance with only six league-stage matches left. The Sharks' roster for the game is as follows: Luan Giliomee (15), Yaw Penxe (14), Ethan Hooker (13), André Esterhuizen (12, captain), Makazole Mapimpi (11), Jordan Hendrikse (10), Grant Williams (9), Phepsi Buthelezi (8), Vincent Tshituka (7), Siya Kolisi (6), Emile van Heerden (5), Jason Jenkins (4), Hanro Jacobs (3), Fez Mbatha (2), and Phatu Ganyane (1). The bench will host Eduan Swart (16), Ox Nché (17), Vincent Koch (18), Corné Rahl (19), Nick Hatton (20), Bradley Davids (21), Jean Smith (22), and Hakeem Kunene (23).

As the Sharks gear up to take their bite back against Munster, the stakes are high and the energy in the camp is palpable, promising a match filled with strategic plays and pivotal performances.
