Thanks for the above. You may not know that Libbok grew up in Riversdale - he obviously is as honest as they come and will always try his best in the game.

"You may not know that Libbok grew up in Riversdale - he obviously is as honest as they come . . ."
Ugly little man yelling at Ou Maaik...wth gaan in jou kop aan?
Manie had a good match and kinke
d well in the wind...
Daar's niks verkeerd met 'n bietjie kinky
No man, now
Rooipoes
So hid family lives in Riversdale - but he grew up in Humansdorp. Amazing .
Why's his family living
I always think of Libbok as work in progress, that he lacks maturity and that he still hasn't realised his full potential and I'm hoping Brown can create whatever it takes to get him to a stellar level. Never ever doubted his talent and potential from the moment I set eyes on him. Would like to know his role model.
Ou Maaik, I don't know where his family lives now but I do know that Manie Libbok was born and raised in Humansdorp and lived there until 2014 when he moved to George as a 17 year old . . . so your statement that he grew up in Riversdal is either a lie or just plain ignorance.
Do you know how I know that, you terminally stupid and stubborn old liar? I know it because I watched Chasing the Sun 2 and I heard Manie Libbok himself say that he grew up in Humansdorp along with footage of him playing rugby on a Humansdorp field.
So who should I believe,
the man himself or some pitifully stupid and deceitful old relic with a proven track record of telling lies on this board and being unable to admit his many laughable mistakes?
Was at the game and the Stormers deserved their win as did Libbok on man of the match. Wasn't a great game to be honest. Connacht while not lacking for effort where poor, their handling was just dire and they showed very little in attack. Not really happy with the coaching ticket but stuck with them another season.
As for the rest of the URC. Looks like advantage Munster. Might also finally see Leinster send a strong squad down to SA to face Bulls in a potential semi final.
Manie should not be a work in progress at this point.
Everybody that couldn't stand Jantjies should feel no different about Manie. He's more inconsistent, a lesser playmaker and a worse defender than Elton was.
After last year, and the previous seasons of confidence placed in Manie, he should be on fire right now and looking like the first choice for the Boks. He's in his prime and we're still talking about him as "developing".
There is only a 3 year age difference between Manie and Pollard. If you're struggling, try this...Pollard's boot guided the Boks to the 2019 WC title...when he was 2 years younger than Manie is now.
Let that sink in.
Pollard steps up for the big games, but Manie brings more on attack. If the Bok backline evolves under the new specialist attack coach - we could get more out of Manie.
Still not the best player in wet slow conditions, but the weather at the last world cup was unseasonable from the quarters onwards.
Manie had a stellar game and his ability to attack, his passing skills is phenomenal….Willemse as usual, is dangerous with ball in hand, but if we potentially looking at Willemse for the 12 spot, he needs to defend a bit more accurate….Manie was fired up when he got his kicks over, showing that he has been working on that….real good.
Pollard from the time he first played for the Boks has been dangerous in traffic inside the 22. He hits the line at pace and is hard to put down. The way the Boks play that’s
more relevant than attacking in space.
"Everybody that couldn't stand Jantjies should feel no different about Manie."
Agree.
He's more inconsistent,
Maybe
a lesser playmaker
Nonsense!
and a worse defender than Elton was."
Maybe...
.. .still too early to say...Manie has only a few tests under the belt...Elton had lots of caps...
Draad, Elton would go an entire season making tries all over the place and being a far more consistent kicker...and then people would focus one the one or two bad games he had. People's main gripe with him was that he failed in big games. But he did lead a dominant Lions side, in SR and against better opposition, over a period of three years, where they barely lost any games, often winning by massive margins.
Manie strikes me as that special case where he plays well enough at times for one to have hope that he can elevate his game. Kind of an underdog type situation.
Elton was almost flawless, meaning that when he did mess up it was all people spoke about.
I'd like for Manie to succeed but time is running out. We might be in a situation where Pollard holds the spot long enough that when Manie is supposed to take over proper there's another kid on the scene and Manie is 32.
Ja, it's a pity he's not the comple deal yet.
Ja, it's a pity he's not the comple deal yet.
Eggzakerly my point......without the pity. Some here forget that he did very well for his country and team in Pollock's absence at the RWC.
Some here struggle to embrace change even though change is a necessity. The reliance on the set pieces to win tests is a dead duck. Rassie has realised that it's not the way forward and that the Bok game needs to evolve in preparation for the next RWC. He knows that he won't win the next one with the same strategy he employed in the past one. Credit to Erasmus who has his eyes wide open and his finger on the pulse.
Rassie is moving in the right direction and BTW he has also realised that his current support staff are there for reasons other than their zero expertise in coaching.
I'm not about to call him a genius he's simply reading the right script.
Now with change there'll be some potholes and hiccups and no-one should be expecting it to be a smooth and mistake free transition. Ask yourself, If the Bok team doesn't evolve what exactly is there to go back to? I expect that the real test of the changes will unfold itself on the playing field in an actual game under pressure. But if it comes off then the Boks would have added a new dimension to their style of play equal if not better than the Kiwis and Ozzies at their brilliant best.
Besides change in style of play one should add that he has an enormous problem with selections so in a way it's a double whammy, some would argue it's a nice one to have.......well I'm glad I'm on the sideline watching it all unfold.
Go Rassie....go Bokke!
Nothing wrong with Willemse’s defence - in fact it’s a strength. He is an exceptional player as is Libbok who despite his size fronts up in the tackle
Gelant is a special player as well, he is the closest thing to Willie in fact he is probably even better at creating for those around him. He is currently in sublime form
Shit we have some scarily gifted backs in our ranks at the moment - Gelant, Fassi, Arendse, Kolbe, Green, Moodie, Willemse, David Kriel, Libbok, Sacha, Nohamba, Williams and Papier
Without Willie Leroux, the Boks will certainly need a specialist backline coach - which is what they have for the first time.
Leroux cutting the line as a playmaker really helped the Bok attack, and sometimes it seemed the Boks could not break down defences consistently without him. His long draw and pass moves and running angles allowed the players to run off him and bring more to the attack
Stick is good for pealing the oranges, but he has no proven pedigree as a coach, let alone a backline specialist coach.
Willie is history but not to fear we have creativity in abundance
The task is finding the best combination of 7 backs from the 13 listed
Certainties are Arendse, Kolbe and Willemse
Added to the 13 listed you still have Pollard, Am and Esterhuizen that are 30 and therefore have a few years left in them yet
Say Dave, I can't remember the last time I've been excited about the Boks as I'm now. To be honest my interest had waned even the WC didn't do a lot for me even though I'm obviously happy the Boks won.
But here's the question for the naysayers and knockers.....do they think these guys(Gelant, Fassi, Arendse, Kolbe, Green, Moodie, Willemse, David Kriel, Libbok, Sacha, Nohamba, Williams and Papier) would make an AB or Oz side?
Denny we have talent to burn - the crux is selecting the best 7 - damn hard leaving guys out

Faced with two pressure kicks to beat Connacht Manie delivered….along with a brilliant break setting up the try. Libbok and Willemse are looking good as a possible 10/12 option for the Boks. Willemse substantially outgained Bundi Aki and continues to look the business.
Defense remains a concern….they missed 6 tackles between them. But as an attacking combination they can be lethal.
Good win for the Stormers,
