In a strategic move to reinforce their front line, Harlequins have snagged the signature of Boris Wenger, the Argentinian prop sensation known for his recent triumph with Los Pumas over the British & Irish Lions. The 23-year-old powerhouse is set to join the English club for the 2025/26 season, directly from Dogos XV, aiming to inject some much-needed vigor into their squad after a lackluster 2024/25 season.

Wenger, a formidable loosehead prop, has not only clinched a spot in the Super Rugby Americas 2024 Team of the Season but has also demonstrated his prowess in international fixtures, making him a prized catch for the Harlequins. His transfer follows the conclusion of his commitments at the 2025 Rugby Championship, with an official start date at Twickenham set for October 6.

"I'm looking forward to starting a new challenge and joining Harlequins,"

Wenger expressed his enthusiasm about the new chapter ahead.

"I have heard great things about the club and its supporters from Rodrigo! I’m excited to meet my new teammates and give my all for the club."

Danny Wilson, the head coach of Harlequins, didn't hide his excitement about Wenger's arrival.

"Securing the signing of Boris is a major boost for us and our front-row options heading into the new season,"

Wilson stated.

"He’s a powerful, technically gifted loosehead who brings a real physicality to the contact area and set-piece. We’re delighted to welcome him and confident he’ll make an impact here at Harlequins."

The acquisition of Wenger is timely as the Quins undergo a significant roster overhaul, having released 19 players at the close of the previous season. This leaves the team in a vulnerable state, reliant on fresh talent like Wenger and the six other new signings to step up. Furthermore, Wenger will be joining forces with former Exeter Chiefs and England prop Harry Williams, filling the void left by departing players Wyn Jones, Dillon Lewis, and George Head.

As Harlequins gear up for what promises to be a challenging upcoming season, all eyes will be on Wenger to see if he can translate his international success into the Premiership and help steer the team back to its former glory.
