Lions storming into the lead and leading 14-0 after 15 minutes.

The Lions with a pack of nobodies up against a whole bunch of players on Dave's lists.

Raining now and looking like it's gonna be a forward dominated game.

Horn and Venter already dominating the Vissies.

I just realised that Jayden Hendrikse can't pass the ball both ways.

It's really not such a difficult skill and it's kind of amazing that a 9 can get to Bok level only being able to spin it one way.

Couple of minutes left in the half and the lions leaving the Sharks down and out at 19-0...which could easily have been 29-0 if not for a disallowed try and missed penalty.

The Lions pack making a mockery of the Sharks. The Lions look like they actually want to play while the Shark's pack don't seem to interested.

I don't remember a single instance in the half where the Sharks looked even remotely like scoring.

Why Jordan Hendrikse is playing at 15 is complete mystery. Why do coaches keep playing the better 10 at 15!!!???

Lions open the 2nd half with another try.

24-0

Lombard is a worse goal kicker than Manie z;)

Mar 01, 2025, 15:33

Lions with another penalty into the corner to set up yet another attacking lineout maul.

The Sharks are falling apart here.

FYI I can't stand this Richard Kiel that plays for the Lions. I have no idea how he made to pro rugby.

Mar 01, 2025, 15:43

5 minutes of momentum for Sharks but they have scored yet. Richard Kriel just gave away a penalty that has given the Sharks an attacking lineout.

But Sharks fluff it and the Lions are back in the Sharks half.

Mar 01, 2025, 15:47

57 minutes gone and the Sharks have been penalised 11 times.

Lazy

EDIT: make that 12 penalties in 59 minutes.

EDIT: Make that 13 penalties in 60 minutes. Julius sent to the bin.

Try time Lions. After drawing bunch of penalties on the Sharks line they bundle it over for their 5th try of the day.

31-0

Morne VD Berg easily the best back on the field today. It's not even close.

Mar 01, 2025, 16:12

Couple of very late try's for the Vissies.

Lions demolished the Sharks today.

Mar 01, 2025, 16:16

The vrot vis have received a sound whipping. They scored two consolation tries in the dying minutes.

Mar 01, 2025, 16:38

Congrats to the Lions and their supporters!!!

Quota Saarks could no make an impact. Bongi, Machunu, Julius, Pepsi were all awful.

Only player that can hold their head high is Hooker.

Jurrenzo is very over rated. Like all cape coloured p

layers, showed that he can only play on dry hard fields. He had no acceleration, made poor passes and blew a 4 on 1 overlap. Ran into dead ends.

Lions played the more strategic pressure game.

Kriel, not as talented as his brother was very effective chasing and limiting the sharks counter attack from kick returns.

Van Der berg showed his value as a little general by controlling the ball with the boot with great effect.

Hendrikse was really poor for the Sharks at the base of the ruck and scrum.

Only once Williams came on the sharks had more rhythm, but it was in the last 10 min when the Lions already put 6 tries against them.

Mar 01, 2025, 17:27

The lions were without Henco v Wyk and Francke Horn, but still managed to win convincingly.

Embarrassing for the sharks. Mchunu is definitely not good enough to play international rugby. His scrumming strength is far below par.

The sharks collapsed without a fight. It really makes a person wonder, if Vincent Thsituka is Captain material.

Julius had a day to forget, but can’t be defined because of this loss.

Players mostly grow thru adversity and he will be back. The sharks lacked leadership.

That became better with Kollisi, Koch and Grant coming onto the field.

Congrats lions playing a clever territory game thru Morne’ v d Berg and using there opportunities to score very well.

And with the Sharks being outplayed by the Lions was totally unexpected and they lost the match by a huge margin. and the Bulls losing against the Stormers is another problem.

What is going on in S A Rugny and what is what the various francises do to enhance their own interests?
