Frans is a legend.
"Frans is a legend"
Indeed. Stems from his family connection to Oom Maaik...our own Ruckers legend.
If ever there was an unsung hero of this Bok side it’s Frans
I have known Frans father from school days and have for may years been friends with them since my parents were close friends of the Malherbe family for years. In fact the farm where Frans Malherbe"s father grew up was Uitkyk - which his Grandfather bought from my grandfather. which showed how close the families were as friends for generations.
There are two issues though that I discussed with both Rob Louw and Frans - which will upset some of our members. Both tink that Erasmus is the ebst coach they have ever seen and in the case the case of Frans he ever played for in his ruby playing career. Both said that Du Toit is a top clas player and deserve all the praise he got from rugby experts, Fact is Malherbe said critics of Du Toit is showing unbelievable rugby idiocy.
I will rather believe them than the site members who demonise the two people concerned.
It must have been a great reunion between DumbMike, Rob Louw, Frans Malherbe Senior, Meyer Bosman's mother, Schalk Burger Junior and Senior, and Frans Malher
be's junior.
Meyer Bosman's mother I rarely seen - the Burgers I never met. So I was just commenting on people I know and appreciate as friends and generational ties of over near to a century.between the Malherbe, De Jager, Odendaal and Saayman families all being farmers in the Riversdale area. Sad to say Frans Malherbe's father and I are the only people from that era still living.
Surely some of your ANC comrades deserve a mention?

Didn’t realise Frans was a jeweller….
How about Zuma….no farms in Riversdale?

Apparently Malherbe was announced as the starting 3 at the internal announcement on Sunday and when he heard that it was Koch’s 50th cap he asked if they could swap as he said everyone should play their 50th as a starter
