Hajwa pointed out the scrum penalties for Malherbe over extending were BS.

Now Mallet and Matfield are fuming. Better take a look and see how ref shafted Boks.

Facts are facts so deal with it snowflakes.

Waaaaaaa Hasbeeno. Nothing changes with you when the Boks lose!

Sep 25, 2023, 20:26

He missed some big calls - the worst being at the end of the game when the ball was clearly out

Some poor scrum calls and i was not convinced the Fourie throw in was skew

For the most he was ok

Beanhead, that YouTube Clip seems to be done by Artificial Intelligence :D The Commentary sounds robotic

Malherbe has been let off his entire career. He commonly flops. Very weak scrummager.

Sep 26, 2023, 10:51

Malherbe a weak scrummager bwaaahaaaaa

Sep 26, 2023, 13:33

Malherbe over extends more than any other top tighthead. It’s fine against the larger looseheads who scrum fairly high. Against shorter tightheads he is vulnerable to the belly flop. I pointed this out years ago.

Ox would destroy Malherbe.

Sep 26, 2023, 13:35

What an embarrassing showing for Saddex. The best tighthead and loosehead in the world, and best Bok 1 and 3 of all time... battered. Not for the first time. The Welsh took 4 last year in the third test. Malherbe is very fortunate to be in an era of Bok rugby that is so very leniently reffed.

Sep 26, 2023, 13:48

Malherbe does have his moments but is mostly solid …he is not the player he used to be, neither is Koch. That is why I have been saying for possibly a year already, Wilco should be there and also a guy like Carlu Sadie.

Sep 26, 2023, 13:52

Malherbe's strengths were around the field, and he can be good on defence. He is nowhere near that peak of 2018, but he has never been an especially strong scrummager. That's been a tradition for Bok props for as long as I've been following the game; better around the field.

Sep 26, 2023, 16:38

Man we read some real ignorant shit on here. Some of you know so little about the game.

So it’s common knowledge that Malherbe is regarded as one of if not the best tighthead in the game but some ignorant twats on here are telling us he can’t scrum

What fucking rugby are you watching?

Here is a little rugby lesson for you - why do you think Malherbe sometimes does the belly flop? Do you think it’s because he is being dominated? A little science lesson here for you fools. He can’t flop down if he is being pushed backwards, he can only go down in that fashion for two reasons - firstly because he is pushing his opposing loosehead back or said loosehead as is mostly the case after the set, takes a step back. Malherbe’s legs are far back and if he is unable to bring his knees up in time to take a forward step there is only one way to go. It’s a quick movement backwards by the opposing loosehead either being dominated or tactically.

As for Ox dominating Malherbe well that certainly did not happen when the Stormers met the Sharks

In my opinion Malherbe is the best tighthead the Boks have had post isolation - he is better than Jannie, Meyer, Visagie, BJ, Swart, CJ, Lounscher and Kirsten

Sep 26, 2023, 16:53

I don't know anyone who is actively involved in the game, in several rugby nations, who consider Malherbe as anything. Not a name that ever comes to their mind. I don't recall ever seeing what you have described. Another invention from you to rationalize the myth. Malherbe wouldn't make a top 50 list of Bok props. He very much inferior to BJ Botha, Visagie, CJ van der Linde, Jannie d/P, and a host of others. He is more like an unfit Eddie Andrews.

Sep 26, 2023, 17:01

Doos no one gives a fuck what you think why don’t you give us a frame by frame take on why no one thinks anything of Malherbe you ignorant prick

Malherbe is a class act, the unsung hero of that Bok side

Only Furlong challenges him for the best in the game and none of our previous tightheads come close

Sep 26, 2023, 17:29

Unsung hero? Malherbe couldn't even oust an aging Jannie. He is nowhere near the best at anything at prop.

Sep 26, 2023, 17:42

Saffex, just be grateful that a noob like Doos is so scathing of a fine tighthead prop like Malherbe. It vindicates his selection.

Not the best in general play but as you say, an unsung hero in his primary task.

Sep 26, 2023, 18:40

Yep Rooi we are still waiting for the frame by frame from this ignorant prick

We can be very thankful we have Malherbe

Strange that Rassie didn't have a problem with the ref.

Sep 26, 2023, 19:31

Rassie’s been uncharacteristically quiet about the whole thing.

Sep 26, 2023, 19:40

Rassie is playing a game

Sep 26, 2023, 20:22

He plays too many games.

Jesus do you ever stop winging and blaming the ref.   The fact is he did clearly over extend.  He did go down!!!  He got his technique wrong.  Happens to the best of them.  Even if Ireland didn't take the hit (which wasn't apparent on the TV) why was he the only one.

The SA completely closed the gap in the lineout and the ref didn't blow it up and that was a significant reason we lost our first four lineouts.   Guess what!!  You play the referee!  Ireland figured it out and adapted!!  That is what big boys do!

As for the last play of the game.  The ref didn't see the ball coming out on the left, went across to the right and still couldn't see it coming out.  He screamed twice where is it where is it.  It still wasn't visible before he blew the whistle.  Just AFTER he blew, the number 23 turned with the ball.   You took too long and you didn't give a clear picture to the ref that you were in control of the ball.  It looked harsh but in reality it is unfair to blame the ref.

If the All Blacks beat the Irish I will definitely put on my big boy pants.  I grew up with us losing a lot more than winning.  I know how to take a loss.  I know how to show respect to the Ref and to the opposition.  It was the first thing we were taught in Ireland when I started playing at 10 years old.  It was also the second, third and fourth thing drilled into us by our coaches.

You have nothing to complain about with the ref.  He made mistakes but for every one you can point out I can point out a mistake against Ireland.  The ref was not Carley and you are not Fiji!

I thought the Irish SCORED MORE POINTS AND WON THE GAME........

There is no need to pick holes in the refereeing on this ocassions.

Sep 27, 2023, 04:09

The Irish started very poorly and the South Africans were not good enough on the day to take advantage of it.

Please read it correctly - NOT GOOD ENOUGH ON THE DAY..........

Ireland scored more points - 5..............

There was little in it and I felt the Boks could have played alot better - the loss of the hooker could well be a ongoing concern for them.

Sep 27, 2023, 04:46

Looking back at replays one will always find ref errors. In normal motion we as spectators don't see these errors.

I first heard about that maul from Mallet  and with the software available today it was laid bare. The ref stuffed up... plain and simple. We lost tough.

Sep 27, 2023, 05:47

Well explained Dave. The halfbakes don't understand what happened. By taking a step back you can cause this overextension.

The problem for not accepting any evidence of ref wrongdoing is that the snowflakes are dead scared of being called whingers etc. So being faint hearted Bok supporters or even fake Bok supporters like Deus they are unable to admit ref fault. Guy like Mallet and Matfield know nothing about the game and must be dismissed. If a side loses a test match they must NEVER say anything about any ref error.

So actually at bottom this is a about cowardice. Indeed it took a kiwi to point out the ref errors regarding the scrum. Then when he accurately does so the so called Bok supporters are up in arms. Don't blame the ref. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you can't make this BS up!

As for Deus he makes one absurd comment after another. Must be one of the daftest rugby posters we have had on the board. You don't play as many tests as Malherbe has if you are a weak scrummager. Boks have a glass jaw and soft underbelly. Rassie is the worst coach ever. Comments by Deus thst are some of the most anti Bok comments ever made.

I have no doubt the bad decisions of the ref were enough reason for us to have lost the test. Goal kicking was another. The luck of the Irish adage came true in this test.

Beeno as always the realist. Unafraid to go where the facts lead. Not putting up with any nonsense from weak kneed snowflakes.

Bye the way if Rassie said anything about the ref he would probably face suspension. Recall how when he pointed out 36 or so errors made by the ref in that Lions test what happened. But even with video evidence we had the very frot Deus and Mozz trying to run cover for the ref. They of course didn't like the courage Rassie exhibited in calling the ref to account and exposing the corruption of tbe IRB that was at the core of all the bad reffing we have to put up with.

Doubtless at some point in the future Rassie will explain exactly how this ref shafted the Boks. Right now was not the time for him to speak we need him to be coaching and guiding the team.

Sep 27, 2023, 08:58

By taking a step back you can cause this overextension.

Instability in the scrum setup suits the stronger team.  Technique, body position etc overcomes power when the scrum is stable.  You can hear the ref warned about it a couple of times in the match.   When it was stable Ireland were rock solid.   SA are experts at causing instability so they can play to their strengths.  It is illegal and Ireland found a way to highlight it to the ref.  In this case he did an early push.  There was a fine line here for Ireland between getting penalised for not taking the hit and winning the penalty.

When Conor Murry came on he just delayed the put in a little bit so it forced SA to settle the scrum.

Sep 27, 2023, 09:33

I have no doubt the bad decisions of the ref were enough reason for us to have lost the test. Goal kicking was another. The luck of the Irish adage came true in this test.

And you got a try that was clearly forward.  The guy was running almost laterally across the pitch with little forward momentum.  When he threw the ball he was not running straight forward, he was running at an angle.  So when you look at his hands it looks like it was back but if you look at his body position it was clearly not.  The laws of physics.  As I said for every call that went to Ireland I will point out a lucky call for SA.

I hope we meet you guys in the final.  It will be an absolute cracker.  We know both teams can play better.  Or maybe not, maybe the pressure exerted by both teams did not allow either to play better.

Sep 28, 2023, 20:33

Not denying the Irish the victyory but the ref did make a few incorrect calls during the game.

But Libbok, Rassie and Captain SINGer also got a few wrong that could have changed the game.

To late for tears folks.

After this next game against Tonga the top eight will do battle just hope the Boks can get trough.
