Roos……why?
Roos……why?
Because he had a good game and was far better than any other 8 on the day
Was an easy call
Can’t say I saw him do anything. Admittedly I only watched the second half.
Uh-oh poor Roos is the newest target practice on the dartboard.
On Rugby fantasy competition points are alocated for the ebst perormances by playes in evey positon - I was delihed I picked Roos as my captain and h delivered - he was he ebest perorming playe this eekend of any no 8 and Mozart as per normal obviously did nt want to see it,
Okay I’m willing to be persuaded…..Blob posted the highlights of the game on the match thread. Go there find the highlights at the bottom, push the button that looks like a dart….that starts the tape. Now watch it carefully. Tell me one thing of note, actually tell me one thing even not of note, that Roos does apart from going over unopposed from 5 metres for a try.
No need for any rambling dialogue, all the boring insults. Just provide one instance you think he impacted the game in any way
Roos had one of the quietest games ever.
Dave didn't actually watch the Lion Stormers game. If he did he wasn't paying attention.
I like Roos and I like Jurenzo.
...but I like facts more.
Roos had a good game not a great one, there were some errors but he was heavily involved with carries, beat a good few defenders and scored a try
Now when I’m picking a team of the week and the rest of the 8’s playing literally hardly featured it was pretty easy choosing Roos who was the best forward on the field in that game
Dave Wilco could have scored that try. I’m going out on a limb here, Roos is already 25 and for me he has shown no progress over the last 2 years,
He is a physically talented player, but is trying too hard to show he can mix it up with the big boys. He can’t and looks impotent trying to do that. But his problem is Erasmus, perhaps because he could do it himself, demands physical play from his loosies.
Roos should be doing what Dud Toit tries to do….play a linking role out wider. If he doesn’t do this he won’t be a Bok regular. He is a Bobby Skinstad not a Koby’s Wiese.
It does not help that he has also been injured quite a lot and in that time Wiese has been the regular 8 post Vermeulen
Agreed he is better equipped to play a linking role but also physical enough to crash it up - not as effectively as Wiese but still pretty effective
But ultimately he is not going to create waves carrying in contact, he would make more of an impression out wide
But he looks to get himself into position to play it both narrow and wider so things will happen for him
I do like that he has matured and realised that all that chest beating off the ball stuff served him no favours, he is also on record saying that post his last stint with the Boks he has learnt to relax about his game and not beat himself up about things
Unfortunately when he did get his chance to play for the Boks he played carrying injuries - not ideal but the trademark of a player desperate to take his chances at the highest level
He is too talented and physically equipped not make a name for himself. Injuries, Vermeulen, COVID are all reasons he is 25 and not cemented a Bok spot. We will see the same happen to the gifted Hanekom who is only 2 years younger.
Wiese is Rassie’s favourite, you won’t see Roos or Hanekom dislodge him in a hurry. Personally I prefer both over Wiese who has his physical merits but I prefer ball playing 8’s like Roos and Hanekom
Yes I agree with most of that Dave.
Roos is a 12...
