If it was me, I'd put the following players in cotton-wool for next years Rugby Championship:

Ox, Bongi, Eben, PSdT, Kolisi, Pollard, DDA, Am, Kriel and Cheslin.

I see you included Damian Willemse. Will he be fit in November? Hope so. To me he's our best player. Willemse at #12 solves just about every problem we have in the backline.

I agree with a lot of your picks but think I might have Rabs Maxwane ahead of Tambwe and a few other alternatives. Also hope you're right about Siya Masuku but I have my doubts he'll get the nod.

I believe we have two potential Springbok superstars in Sacha FM and Cameron Hanekom. Hope Hanekom gets recognized and hope he and Sacha can play in the same Springbok team sooner rather than later.

Rassie has said a few times that Hanekom is in the picture. It’s only a matter of when.

Oct 08, 2024, 20:53

Willemse has started the last two Stormers games so he looks good to go

Agree on Rabs - I reckon he is probably the quickest wing in SA

Deserved a crack a while back - probably one of those that will sadly never smell a test cap

"Willemse has started the last two Stormers games so he looks good to go"

Shows how often I watch the Hapless Stompies. That is great news!

I'd make him captain in the #12 jersey with Hooker on the bench. If anything happens to a wing then Hooker replaces him. If anything happens to anyone else, Willemse replaces him and Hooker goes to #12. Sorted. All I need is a backup scrumhalf and I can play a 6-2 split with some confidence.

So my matchday 22 for the games against Scotland and England (everyone else in the squad can get a start against the woeful Welsh):

16 AH Venter, 17 Steenkamp, 18 TdT, 19 Nortje, 20 E Tshituka, 21 V Tshituka, 22 Williams, 23 Hooker

A squad will normally include

6   props

3   Hookers

3   Locks

5  Loosies

3   Scrummies

3   Flyhalfs

3   Centers

5   Outside  Backs

So a squad size normally would be 30 to 33 players,    If you have to reduce the number of players to  the mentioed range  who would you like to see in the squad?

I spoke to Frans Malherbe's father last week and he told me his son was already told he would be  going to the UK in November/

Fuck off you scum

Oct 09, 2024, 11:10

Dave

What is so difficul and why do you call me scum?

Oct 09, 2024, 11:25

Maaik, he was responding to the spammer...all spam posts has been deleted since.

Oct 09, 2024, 18:08

I really think that it will be a absolute travesty, if Wilco does not get picked very soon.

The way he has improved a absolute power House TH . They were so dominant against Ulster, that a person felt bad for Ulster.

1. Steenekamp 2. Grobbelaar 3. Wilco just works and worth looking into, that this Front Row starts for the Boks.

Oct 09, 2024, 19:02

Mike that was not in response to you although it certainly looks like it is which is a bit funny

As Draad says it was in response to some prick that was polluting the board with spam - the administrator has since removed all the spam

Oct 09, 2024, 19:07

My guess is that because Wilco offers very little in general play, he is overlooked which of course is a mistake as he is literally the best scrummaging tighthead in the game

Fact is he has always been that good

Start him at 3 to dominate the scrums then bring on a ball playing tighthead like Thomas in the second half to do his thing

Ox, Marx, Wilco would be an awesome frontrow with Eben and RG behind them

That tightfive would destroy opposition packs - add Wiese at 8 and PSDT at 7

Ouch

Oct 09, 2024, 19:21

I might be mistaken, but Frans is also not the most active TH? Neither is Koch….I see Wilco defending well and regularly he carries into traffic…..

well maybe it’s not enough … but like you say his scrumming power warrants his inclusion….I hope so.

Oct 09, 2024, 19:46

Frans is the best TH in the game, but I'm a huge fan of Wilco...he should be Frans's understudy...and I would like him to join the squad sooner than later...Koch is Mr Incredible,  but both him anf Frans is getting on....

Oct 09, 2024, 20:00

Frans puts in more tackles and carries more than Wilco does, same applies to Koch

This is the only reason I can think of that is keeping Wilco out of the equation which is ridiculous

Malherbe is pure class, Koch is solid - for me Wilco and Thomas are better options than Koch - have always been and both should have been Frans’s understudy for the past few years

Oct 09, 2024, 20:06

Thomas the Tank is too tall for a 3 for my liking, but that's just a gut feeling...shouldn't be a reason for holding him back.

Oct 09, 2024, 20:17

Where can I get the Bulls game player stats tackles, carries etc.?

Oct 09, 2024, 21:06

Draad he has already proved himself at 3 in the tests he has played this year, for Bath and the Sharks

But here is the crux

Malherbe is 1.9m

Thomas is 1.89m

One of the best ever in Carl Hayman was 1.94m

Lomax of the current NZ side is 1.93m

Wilco Louw is 1.85m as is Koch

French tighthead Antonio is 1.96m

Oct 10, 2024, 05:11

It's purely perceived optics then...and yes, he's proven to be good, but I think Wilco is better...bias, I know...both Bolanders, but Wilco comes from the right side of the mountains.:D

Oct 10, 2024, 06:01

When is the squad selected ?

Oct 10, 2024, 07:02

The Boland water, is very good:)

Oct 10, 2024, 07:30

The red variety ?

Oct 10, 2024, 07:47

Nee man, die gewone water...die Breërivier se water is so sterk, die boere daar rond moet dit met brandewyn verdun.

Oct 10, 2024, 08:53

I was on a train with Thomas man he is huge in person

Oct 10, 2024, 12:56

Ha ha dit is waar :) Meng dit met Olof Bergh. When last were you in Worcester Draad?

I was there last week for the first time in 5 years and it’s expanding rapidly. Hardly recognised the place.

Oct 10, 2024, 13:54

Was there last year...drove my boet to drop his laaitie at the koshuis...he couldn't drive, both his arms were in casts after a motorcycle acident...and I got a speeding fine:D...

I used to pass trough quite regularly for work in the past, but I changed jobs at the end of last year, so it's probably gonna be way less now.

Oct 10, 2024, 15:28

Any case it looks different in town. But it’s still good old Boland. Sorry to hear about your Boet.

I drive Bike every day and it’s the tits on the road that you have to permanently be on the guard for.
