This is not the crucial match for the Boks…the Quarter Final is. And it’s not clear who we are better off facing in the QF. So really this match will likely not have the Boks at fever pitch. Also there
has been a lot of hype since Scotland/NZ…some of it justified, some not. So while I think the Boks should beat Ireland and likely would beat Ireland in a knockout, this one could be a banana peal.Ireland by five.
Boks by 12
Ireland x 6
I'm predicting the Boks to win by 8 . . . but I'm less confident now that I see ou Maaik has bet on them.
Go Bokke!
I’d be more confident if we had Marx, Lood, Pollard and Am on board but it is what it is
Ireland are at full strength, they don’t have any injuries
I don’t like making predictions it’s not my thing but at a push it’s Boks to win it
We this much hype the games bound to be a let down.
Probably be a dire 3-3 draw.
Hopefully their are no red cards.
Has Ireland,s team been announced yet?
Yes it’s their usual side - no surprises
I trust the Boks to win but it is going to be an uphill battle against 15 players plus two officials.
Libbok best convert all his kicks or he is going to be toast in Bok and supporters views.
Time to show your true colours guy.
Vasbyt Bokke.
I see that Bealham and Sheehan is both fit …this will boost the Irish pack…can’t predict this 1 either.
Ireland: Keenan; Hansen, Ringrose, Aki, Lowe; Sexton (capt), Gibson-Park; Porter, Kelleher, Furlong, Ryan, Beirne, O'Mahony, Van der Flier, Doris.
Replacements: Sheehan, Bealham, Kilcoyne, Henderson, Baird, Murray, Crowley, Henshaw.
South Africa: Willemse; Arendse, Kriel, De Allende, Kolbe; Libbok, De Klerk; Kitshoff, Mbonambi, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Mostert, Kolisi (capt), Du Toit, Wiese.
Replacements: Fourie, Nche, Nyakane, Kleyn, Snyman, Van Staden, Smith, Reinach.

Well, if the Boks can replicate their performance against the all blacks at Twickenham then it will be by 20 points.
It only worked because the Boks held onto the ball of 20 to 30 min and the all blacks hardly got their hands on the ball. I think the Boks should have been 20 points ahead after 30 min in that game. The forwards was unreal, they had so much dominance, scrums, rucks and driving.
The Kiwis were shell shocked. The Boks defence only came into the game later on, but only after the forwards dominated for so long.
Ireland has some great kickers, so we need to get the ball in their half. We have also been very poor in fielding the high kicks. So that is another concern.
It looks like the Boks want to open up the game in the 2nd half and switch to defensive mode. Having 3 open siders mean that they want to shut Ireland down at the break down.
They want the forwards to soften them up in the first 40 minutes.
It also looks like a really pacy and light pack than the bomb squads from before.
I think the reserve pack is probably lighter by 10kg per man and shorter as well.
However, both Trevor and Ox are incredible scrummagers, they are so dominant and technically sound. They won so many good scrums.
I think van Staden will be hooker at scrum time and Fourie will throw the ball in. With Van Staden at 2, the boks looked really strong. Both Trevor and Ox are relatively short and they have any advantage as they can go much lower than their counter parts.
Adding Klein and RG in the 2nd half brings us another line out option and better ball handling.
Hopefully their will be no injuries
What we have seen is that Rassie knows when to sub players, but it can all come undone if one of the players buckle and have to be taken off.
That is what happened against with Dweeb and Vermeulen against the All Blacks last year. Vermeulen had no match fitness and Dweeb got thrown into the deep end. Messed up scrums, line outs and tackles. He probably single handedly cost us that game.
So every player need to play their max minutes.
However, having Kwagga as a backup backline player might actually be better for us
Ireland by 5….it’s amazing how accurate my model is. Stick with moz.
Congrats Stav ............ good luck with the ABs

Boks 22 - 21 Ireland. (Boks by 1).
If the last 3 years have shown anything, Ireland has been the most consistent team in world rugby. So in theory, they should win. Logic is probably saying the Irish are favourites, but it is hard to not have some emotional bias.
If the Irish win, I think it will be because they get ahead early and have an unsurmountable lead.
Off the bat, a few things could go badly wrong for the Boks:
1. Lineout throws:
A few years ago, Bongi was throwing the ball in perfectly - better even than Marx. However, over the last 2 seasons, his throws have been average at best.
The Boks have 3 hookers in the match-day squad. (or 3 openside loose forwards and one hooker). This seems to be why Vermeulen is not in the match-day squad.
Perhaps Rassnaber wants both reserve hookers to get a shot throwing the ball in (Although the Tonga test might be better to experiment?)
2. No pole kicker.
Manie has been a good pole kicker, but his test performance must be around 55%. If the Boks struggle to score tries, we are going to need a pole kicker. Faff has been better than Manie, but he will probably get subbed earlier.
Unlike the Boks, who have played more with B-team players. (except for Scotland).
Some weeks of back-to-back games are good for combinations and getting the team to peak as the competition progresses.
