Amid swirling rumors of psychological warfare, Rassie Erasmus, the Springbok coach, has firmly denied engaging in any mind games as the build-up intensifies for the upcoming clash against France in Paris. French journalists recently stirred the pot, suggesting the closure of Les Bleus' training sessions was due to paranoia about potential espionage by the reigning world champions. However, Erasmus has waved off these claims, stating his recent social media activity, which included a spot-on prediction of the French lineup, was purely for fan engagement back home.

Erasmus argues his online antics are not cunning tactics but a bridge to South African fans. "People see everything we do as mind games," he commented. "But when I put a team out there, or post our team's weights and caps, it's really just about communicating with our supporters and giving them a little more depth and insight into what our team looks like and how it compares to theirs."

"The South African supporters are really into it, and the more you give them, the more they understand. What France do in their camp doesn’t influence how we prepare. We play for South Africa, for the Springboks – and even though we’re away from home, we know there are millions behind us."

Turning his attention to his French counterpart, Erasmus spoke highly of Fabien Galthié, reflecting on their long-standing relationship. "I know Fabien – I played against him and have known him for years," he shared. "Ironically, he came to Munster and shadowed us for a week. He sat in every meeting, training, and planning session, and we learned a lot from each other. Soon after that, he became the French head coach."

"Boks maybe the best team ever"

As the game approaches, the tactics on the field will surely overshadow the pre-game chatter. Yet, this blend of mutual respect and strategic transparency adds an intriguing layer to what promises to be a titanic encounter in Paris.
