Top bloke the players love him

Oct 12, 2023, 12:13

Nothing says great like a lack of humility, bringing the game into disrepute, and playing the race card to depower refs (potentially ending ref careers, as has been seen in soccer!). No, he is a manipulator. He knows how to play to certain people, look at the profile of his team... almost no leadership. Noone to challenge him. Nice passive types.

:) Rassie likes the French wine…..Wyn vir die pyn.

Rassie is a coach who's players would try run through a brick wall for him.

Oct 12, 2023, 14:56

I don't know Rassie on a personal level. I'm sure there are many people that likes him. My criticism of him purely as a coach. A person can be very nice, but what are they to work with. It is clear that the players like him. He backs his players and they need to deliver for him. The best teams believe in their coaches vision and plans.

On human level, I'm sure he is a top bloke.

However, if you are not performing and only have  63% win ratio. Winning a World Cup only get you that far. Not even Jake could keep his job after winning the World Cup, nor did they ever asked him to come back when he clearly wanted to coach.

Are we hiring coaches on personality their ability. Human management plays a big factor.

As I said, his judgement will come on Sunday.

Poor choices, not picking a kicker, not building squad depth to kick your points lays at his feet.

He has made many poor match choices, losing to Wales. Only 50% win record in his first year. That was okay, we accepted it, but as bok fans we want our coaches to hit 70% minimum, not 60%

That’s the problem, other coaches prefer their players to run round brick walls.

Mother, diversity, love of country…..pushing all the buttons. What a fake!

...it's the reality of life in South Africa ATM...

Oct 12, 2023, 19:04

His record is not 63% you can’t include the period when he was not hands on unless you think a coach can coach via a phone???

Oct 12, 2023, 19:09

Something to consider with % records is that World Rugby has been more competitive in recent years than ever. So top-ranked teams are losing more than before.

If South Africa is ranked number 2 in the world, they must be winning more than most teams - even if the % is low. (at least when compared with the historical winning rate % for a 2nd-ranked country).

Beenz, according to some, Rassie failed matric math and is a total idiot.

Oct 12, 2023, 19:17

Other coaches like Heineken Meyer?
If memory serves me correctly he forbid passing among the forwards.

The Boks with Manie Libock at 10 have been expansive, most international ex-players pundits concur on this. Most don't want Pollard, other than for his boot.

Oct 12, 2023, 19:24

Manie is great, but he can have off days unfortunately...but he's a match winner when on song.

Oct 12, 2023, 19:39

I am floored. Sharkbok sounding sane and in his right mind. Deus is an embarrassment to the board and Mozzzz scarcely any better.

Oct 12, 2023, 19:54

Beeno it’s Doos for good reason

Oct 14, 2023, 05:57

If memory serves me correctly he forbid passing among the forwards.

No it doesn't serve. That seems to part of your problem. The Church of Rassie - who are not Fans of the Boks - consistently demonstrate poor knowledge of the Boks.

The Boks with Manie Libock at 10 have been expansive,

No they have not. Libbok cannot play the position at this level and has yet to have one good test! Another Goosen who is ask myth and no substance. The Bok attack had failed to show anything against any resistance.

Something to consider with % records is that World Rugby has been more competitive in recent years than ever. So top-ranked teams are losing more than before.

The fall of the SH has aided the Boks. Erasputin has never faced a quality Wallaby side, except for the one who knocked his Boks out in 2011. This hasn't been the best quality period in rugby. However, the better teams are pulling away. The Boks are not amongst those teams.

Anybody like to see King of Corn as Bok coach.

No I thought not.

As for Doos he is not up to even being the baggage oak!.
