Angus Gardner (Australia) will referee Argentina v New Zealand in Saint-Denis on Friday, October 20.

He will be joined by assistant referees Nic Berry (Australia) and Karl Dickson (England) with Ben Whitehouse (Wales) as Television Match Official.

Ben O’Keeffe (New Zealand) will take charge of England v South Africa in Saint-Denis on Saturday, October 21.

He will be joined by assistant referees Andrew Brace (Ireland) and Paul Williams (New Zealand) and TMO Brendon Pickerill (New Zealand).

It will be the first World Cup semifinal for both Angus Gardner and Ben O’Keeffe.

Gardner will referee Argentina v New Zealand for the fifth time in what is his first Rugby World Cup knockout match as a referee.

The good news is we have southern hemisphere refs for the semis, I'm a bit wary of a NH for the TMO in the AB game but hopefuly that will not be a factor.

What say you Beeno?:P

With Nic Berry assisting the AB game, it would be so ironical/planned if Nic gets the call for the RWC final assuming the semis go as anticipated.

What a battle the Boks are going to have in the remaing games with the officials selected to block them.

What a disgrace with the officials selection squad.

No French, Italian, Aussie or Argentina officials able to take charge of these important games......why?

Why in the world give to that Kiwi bandit!

He can select who nz play in tbe finals.

Follow the money!!!

Never should have selected Ben O’Keefe for the Boks semi. Too close to the action being a Kiwi. If the Boks lose Hasbeeno will be apoplectic and we’ll never hear the end of it. If they win O’Keefe will be seen as subliminally favouring the Boks in a desperate attempt to prove his impartiality! He’s in a no win situation and this was a ridiculous decision by World Rugby.

Moooo of course you are very obviously  right on this matter.

So why was he selected?

Oct 17, 2023, 19:17

He was selected because all Kiwis are impartial and fair-minded:ermm:

Not sure what I think about O’Keefe reffing us.

I’m never totally impressed by him.

Oh well, we have to deal the hand we’re dealt.

Becs don’t worry Ben is not going to stop your lot getting another smack from the Boks

Oct 18, 2023, 01:09

Sorry becs, Wayne Barnes will get the final

Oct 18, 2023, 12:26

Well that would come as no surprise, blob.

We’re on damage limitation in the Semi !

Don't sell your boys short Becs...they have beaten us enough in recent years and I think France made us work much harder than Fiji did your team...this won't be easy for South Africa at all. England is in with a shot, so they'll be more than ready for us.

GO BOKKE!!!
