Leinster's backs coach Tyler Bleyendaal recently opened up about the challenges and joys of integrating powerhouse Springbok lock RG Snyman into the team's dynamic. Snyman, fresh from helping the Springboks clinch another Rugby Championship title, has rejoined Leinster just in time for their upcoming clash against Munster at Croke Park this Saturday.

Having moved from Munster, Snyman's notorious offloading prowess initially threw his new teammates for a loop. Bleyendaal shared, "Sometimes it’s not easy to plan around because he’s also quite instinctive. Some of the unstructured play that he can create is equally chaotic but beneficial for us." It seems that Snyman's unpredictable style, while initially baffling, has become a significant asset to the team.

"He’d carry into a brick wall, but suddenly the ball’s flying out and we’re playing off it again. So, it’s about staying alive around him."

Beyond his on-field antics, Snyman contributes more than just his rugby skills. "He also just brings a really good energy," added Bleyendaal. Described by his coach as a "lovely bloke," Snyman's presence in training brings a relaxed yet intensely physical dynamic to the squad, meshing well with the team's spirit.

Meanwhile, concern hangs over the team as centre Robbie Henshaw, who was pulled early from the game against the Sharks, is under medical evaluation. In addition, winger Jordan Larmour is on the brink of completing his rehabilitation and is expected to return to the field soon.

The state of the United Rugby Championship sees other teams struggling to keep pace, with the Stormers notably pulling ahead as South African rivals face challenges. As for Leinster, the addition of Snyman seems to be a strategic boon that keeps opponents guessing and teammates on their toes, ready to capitalize on the unexpected opportunities his instinctive play provides.

As Leinster gears up to face Munster, all eyes will be on Snyman, watching whether his unpredictable brilliance will continue to disrupt and dazzle on the rugby field.
