After a season plagued by injuries, Wallabies back-rower Rob Valetini is declaring himself fully fit and ready to make an impact in the upcoming clash with England at Twickenham. Valetini's frustrating year included a brief but memorable stint in a match against the British and Irish Lions, where despite sustaining a calf injury early on, he pushed through the pain to play in front of a massive crowd and his family in Melbourne.

Valetini reflected on the experience, saying,

"I’ll remember it for the rest of my life… It was a bit frustrating with the injury, but I guess it is what it is. I was just pretty happy to play against the Lions, especially in Melbourne, where I was born, so I was happy to have my family there at the MCG in front of 90,000. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life, even though it was only 40 minutes. It was awesome. We grew as a team, and our depth as a team grew as well."

Despite the setback, he views the ordeal as a pivotal moment that helped build his resilience and the team's depth.

His road to recovery wasn't smooth, featuring in only four out of six Rugby Championship matches due to recurring calf issues. However, after a successful return against Japan last Saturday, Valetini is optimistic. "It’s just something I am trying to stay on top of, just doing my extra strength work at the gym and the little one per cents I can do to help with my calf," Valetini remarked, emphasizing his dedication to staying fit and contributing to the Wallabies' efforts on the field.

Meanwhile, loosehead prop Aidan Ross, who made headlines by playing for both the Wallabies and the All Blacks, shared his thoughts on his unique journey in rugby. "I haven’t put too much time into answering that question," he said, reflecting on his dual representation. "I was proud to represent the All Blacks, and I am as equally proud to represent the Wallabies. Life is a journey, and your rugby career is a journey and it goes different ways." Ross's transition marks an interesting chapter in his career, symbolizing the fluid nature of international rugby careers.

As the Wallabies gear up for their return to Twickenham, the scene of last year's dramatic victory over England, both Valetini and Ross are key figures to watch, each with their own points to prove in this high-stakes international showdown.
