It was another thrilling weekend for the South African rugby diaspora as they left their mark across Europe's top leagues. Jeremy Ward and Tyrone Green were among those who found their way to the try line, showcasing the impact of South African talent in both the French Top 14 and the English Premiership.

In the land of wine and cheese, former Sharks centre Jeremy Ward made his presence felt by scoring a try for Stade Francais in their decisive 28-7 victory over Champions Cup holders Bordeaux Begles. Meanwhile, the Bordeaux team featured a South African trio with Rohan Janse Van Rensburg, Carlu Sadie, and Tiaan Jacobs showing off their skills. Across the French pitches, Nemo Roelofse and James Hall battled in Perpignan's tough 31-8 loss to La Rochelle, while Montauban's South African contingent fought to a gritty 22-22 draw against Montpellier, with contributions from Ru-hann Greyling, Sikhumbuzo Notshe, and JT Jackson. Bayonne, with Herschel Jantjies at scrumhalf, eked out a nail-biting 35-32 win over Toulon.

Over in the English Premiership, the Sale Sharks were steered by captain Ernst van Rhyn to a solid 27-10 win against Gloucester, where Jacques Vermeulen and Rob du Preez put in stellar performances and Hyron Andrews crossed the try line. Gloucester's own James Venter started the match, adding to the South African flavor. Saracens, with Ivan van Zyl at scrumhalf, handed a 39-17 thrashing to the Newcastle Red Bulls, who featured Boeta Chamberlain and Luan de Bruin. At the Twickenham Stoop, the Bath squad opened their season with a bang, defeating Harlequins 47-31, courtesy of prop Frans van Wyk's efforts from the bench, while Quins' Tyrone Green managed to score a try. Meanwhile, Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints played out an electrifying 33-33 draw, featuring Joseph Dweba, Kwenzo Blose, and JJ van der Mescht.

"It's always special to score in such a competitive league,"

noted Tyrone Green after his try-scoring performance for Harlequins. Benhard Janse van Rensburg led Bristol Bears to a commanding 42-24 victory over a Handre Pollard-less Leicester Tigers, with Hanro Liebenberg putting up a fight for the Tigers.

From sizzling tries to crunching tackles, South African players continue to spice up the European rugby scene, proving that wherever they go, they bring a bit of home-field advantage with them.
