In a bold move that's sure to stir the pot in the rugby world, the Sharks are unleashing their latest weapon, 18-year-old Zekhethelo Siyaya, as he prepares to make his debut against the Ospreys this Saturday in Swansea. This young fullback sensation, fresh from his exploits at Westville Boys’ High and the electrifying U18 Craven Week, is stepping up in the absence of a host of injured Sharks' stalwarts.

Last year saw Siyaya not only dominate at school level but also earn his stripes with the SA Schools team, followed by a stint with the Junior Boks against Georgia earlier this year. Now, he's set to test his mettle at the Vodacom URC level, filling the sizable boots of sidelined players like Aphelele Fassi and Jaco Williams.

Amidst this youthful surge, the Sharks are also welcoming back the seasoned muscle of Springbok centre André Esterhuizen, who returns to captain the side. Esterhuizen, rested during the last-16 EPCR Challenge Cup clash, is expected to bring both leadership and firepower back to the team. However, the Sharks will miss the presence of Siya Kolisi, who remains out with a calf injury despite earlier hopes of his return.

The front row sees some shuffling as well, with Bok props Ox Nché and Vincent Koch poised to make an impact off the bench, showcasing the depth and versatility of the Sharks' squad.

"Every game is a big game, but introducing a young player like Zekhethelo is always exciting. We believe he's ready to step up and deliver,"

remarked an enthusiastic André Esterhuizen about Siyaya’s upcoming debut.

While the Sharks currently sit 10th on the URC log, just a whisker ahead of the Ospreys, every point and performance counts as they push for a better standing. The fresh energy brought by Siyaya could be just what the doctor ordered to invigorate their campaign.

SHARKS LINE-UP: Zekhethelo Siyaya - 15, Edwill van der Merwe - 14, Le Roux Malan - 13, André Esterhuizen (c) - 12, Ethan Hooker - 11, Jean Smith - 10, Jaden Hendrikse - 9, Manu Tshituka - 8, Vincent Tshituka - 7, Phepsi Buthelezi - 6, Emile van Heerden - 5, Jason Jenkins - 4, Hanro Jacobs - 3, Fez Mbatha - 2, Phatu Ganyane - 1.
