Apparently asking to be bought out of his contract at Racing to return home to SA

Aug 02, 2024, 19:34

Obviously the heading should say Siya not Soya !!!!!!

Aug 02, 2024, 19:39

1-million-a-year contract. I wonder how much Soya :getlost:gets if he drops out of the remainder.

Aug 02, 2024, 19:57

Oh god, that was embarrassing……I wrote Siya and didn’t check before I posted !

Apparently, SA are buying him out of his contract. The Sharks are most likely to sign him, so I read.

Aug 02, 2024, 20:02

In my opinion Siya Kollisi is used to special treatment. Here in SA he is carried on a pedestal.

It was seen at his stint at the sharks where he hardly played full games to be protected for the Boks. Rassie to this day favour’s him like he is a golden egg.

The owner of Racing 92, Jacky Lorenzetti, is not impressed with his form up till now and is putting pressure on Kollisi to work harder. It’s normal that you will get a lot of pressure on you for the amount of money he gets paid.

It Looks like Kollisi can’t take the Pressure and wants Daddy Rassie to help him so that SA Rugby buys him out and he can return to the Sharks again. His contract there is until end of 2026 with a pay of 1 Million € per season.

My opinion show some grit Siya, do better and show that you deserve that money. Besides that is it worth spending so much money on a guy to buy him out and he will be 36 years old at our next WC?

Lorenzetti is a tough guy and out of the SA guys playing there, only Habana, Kolbe and Bakkies Botha was successful there. Eben Etzebeth couldn’t hack it there either.

Aug 02, 2024, 21:16

Totally overrated….subbed every match at halftime, because it makes no difference to the play or the captaincy if he is on the field.

Aug 02, 2024, 22:32

Well, his chickens has come home to roost. True captain was Duanne Vermeulen and the other players like Bongi. Kolisi was just the cheer leader grabbing all the headlines. I can’t believe how over hype he is. He does maybe a few good runs with ball in hand and he is a hero.

Racing was looking for a warrior, but we all know he hates contact.

French people can’t be easy and they are very opinionated but they are fair if they have to pay the guy that much.

I would be expecting much more. I wonder if he has a performance Claus in his contract?

Aug 02, 2024, 23:48

Soya sauce is very nice Becs : )

Aug 03, 2024, 00:35

I’m allergic to soya, Mpower !! :)

Aug 03, 2024, 06:00

Editing any of your posts in a thread allows you to edit the post heading too, Becs. It's more fun the way it is, of course.

Aug 03, 2024, 07:54

More like Soy boy Kolisi.

I just hope he doesn't make it to another world cup and 36. How many minutes will he play then? 10 and the let the rest of the team do the work? We need a player that can go for 100 min in a final, not a part timer.

Surely there at better opensiders in SA

Aug 03, 2024, 16:20

Thanks Pakie :)

I know it’s bringing a smile so I’ll leave it as it is :P

I read he’s left Racing with immediate effect.

Aug 03, 2024, 18:01

How much did SA Rugby and Sharks had to fork out?

Aug 03, 2024, 22:49

Great player making a complete mockery of that fucking ignorant French club owner in that first Irish test

Aug 03, 2024, 22:55

A passenger

Aug 03, 2024, 22:56

Bullshit he is by some distance our best 6 and a great leader

Aug 03, 2024, 22:58

Balls…exposed the first time he wasn’t given special status.

Aug 03, 2024, 23:12

Exposed by who?

Aug 04, 2024, 02:50

Exposed as a hyped figurehead in club rugby….denigrated by his club. Why? Because he was contributing. Get real, this man’s low wattage play has been covered by the best pack in the game. Playing for Racing in France or for the Sharks he has been a nothing burger.

Aug 04, 2024, 08:24

What a fucking joke - a club owner with money who knows fuck all about rugby - best part was calling Siya fat - stupid prick clearly does’nt know the difference between fat and muscle

But trust you to hang onto the words of a rugby nobody

Siya is a class act as he proved in that Irish test

Aug 04, 2024, 10:36

Siya is coming to the end of his career. Time to find a replacement. He has done well and deserves some respect.

Aug 04, 2024, 11:08

Exactly his at the end…so instead of being a man and working harder ( for a shit load of money) he is putting more strain on a already Financially stressed SA Rugby to bail him out..pathetic!

Every year 20 000 kids are diagnosed with malnutrition in SA and a 1000 of them die every year…So rather spend that bail out money on something worth it, like saving lives.

Tell him to do a better job by the Frenchies…be a MAN and short your own shit out…he is totally over rated.

Aug 04, 2024, 13:34

Mampara power clearly upset by 2 RWC wins where Siya was captain.

Like other guys coming to the end of their careers there will be a phased and carefully managed handover.

Thank goodness for the level head of Rassie. Can't have Mamparas running the show! :D

Aug 04, 2024, 14:28

Atleast I am not a ass kisser with brown rings around my neck Beeno Biscuits : )

Pls put some proof down where he helped to guide our team as a captain to WC victories, other than just being the cheerleader??

Where it was clear to see the back bone for leadership came from Thor, Bongi, Marx, Am , Pieter and Eben! Guys that played most of our games and longer than just 20 min.

If I was you, I would rather keep quiet ..proclaiming to be all about Love Brothers and Sisters, Amen….but meanwhile showing more love in supporting War…your Hypocrisy stinks! : )

Aug 04, 2024, 14:41

All that Kolisi did to win the WC final was blow a try and get a yellow, that by game precedent should have been a red. In the prior WC final he was gone shortly after the half….Eluckmiss no doubt remembering that Francois Louw, who should have started, saved the Welsh semi with a turnover Kolisi couldn’t have made in a thousand years.

Respect the Beast, see Kolisi for the political choice he has always been.

Aug 05, 2024, 10:58

I can't believe that forked out so much money to buy him out his contract. Man, had there been any player in the world that has been given so much support.

To play R20 just to buy him out. Racing had a point, they had to pay the Shark to get him a d on top of that pay him a million euros per year. I would be livid if I invested in a player and then realise he was propped up to look good and is a nobody player without his team around him.

Toulon got the most of the 2007 Boks and every player was professional.

They had Habana, Bakkies, Joe van Niekek, Juan Smith and those guys won them trophies. Then comes Etzebeth that just use the club season to get repairs a d hardly plays, Kolisi with his moaning and Bakkies had to step in and yet got clapped because one bok can't speak out over another bok.

Bakkies and those players are so well respected by Toulon. They were committed to the cause and ultimate professionals.

Nope, I don't want Kolisi back.

Aug 05, 2024, 13:37

Kolisi is a class player always has been and has been an absolutely brilliant ambassador for our side and rugby in general.

You fucking idiots who keep bashing him are both rugby ignorant and you should hang your heads in shame.

We have the same fools telling me how wonderful the bog ordinary physically challenged Mostert is and in the same breath tell us how useless PSDT, Kolisi, de Allende, Libbok etc are

Fucking hell seriously - I sometimes wonder what rugby you lot are watching for it’s not the same as the majority of observers out there

Kolisi is a great

Aug 05, 2024, 14:07

I like the way he sings the national anthem, and I like it when he is substituted before halftime.

Aug 05, 2024, 14:11

" South African Rugby on Saturday denied reports it was going to buy Springboks captain Siya Kolisi out of his contract with French club Racing 92.

"Media are advised that speculation that SA Rugby is involved in the "buy-out" of the club contract of Siya Kolisi is without any basis in fact," SA Rugby said.

" SA Rugby also wishes to make clear that it is not in any way involved in any conversations relating to such an outcome should they, in fact, be taking place," it added.

" Kolisi is Great " - Dave you know yourself this is not true, other then occasionally having a good carry ??

You want us to seriously believe he gives the same input as a Ox Nche, Bongi, Lukanyo Am,Eben, RG, Pieter S, Frans and Marx ??!

" Fucking hell seriously - I sometimes wonder what rugby you lot are watching " - We can ask the same thing to you when it comes to Dud Allende and the 20 min wonder boy.

Kolisi is a spoiled brat that is used to special treatment and is totally inconsistent in his form.

He has been exposed in France and now he wants to run away….but it strongly looks like, SA Rugby is not having it : )

Aug 05, 2024, 14:18

You are a fucking idiot

Aug 05, 2024, 14:24

That is not a argument and The Fucking idiot part is all on you!!

As you have no proof what so ever of proving his greatness!! Kolisi can’t even tie Mosterts boot laces…he is only there because it’s Politically motivated….Fact and Case Closed .

Aug 05, 2024, 16:27

I do hope that we don't buy him out. 33 when there are other foreign base players that can play longer. Why on earth would SA want to foot such a steep bill. Rassie made it clear, if you want to be captain then you need to be in SA.

Kolisi has been coddled his whole career, even from his school days he was given a scholarship by Johan Rupert that paid for all of his schooling and boarding. Ensure that he succeeded and got all the support from the private (White) sector to make him successful. No other sport player or even rugby player had so much support behind him.

I think kolisi should hang up his boots and grab a Speer and shield and join those hype dancers at the start of the test match to motivate the crowd and the team. Not point in having him on the field with the whistle is blown

Aug 05, 2024, 16:50

So King are you saying Kolisi was not good in the WC and Irish test

Aug 05, 2024, 20:17

For a million Euros you should be able to get at least four Kolis's plus a Bavuma thrown in.

Who are the idots with all this money to waste?

Not a Captain in any shape or form.

We all know who was the actual Skipper during the last RWC and it sure was not Kolisi.

Aug 05, 2024, 20:26

Vermeulen was de facto captain in both WCs. Kolisi led the choir. Sickening how this man has been credited with so much when he has done so little.

Aug 05, 2024, 20:58

What bullshit Vermeulen was never the leader where do you drag that shit from

Kolisi is a class player easily one of the best opensides we have ever had - better than Rassie, Schalk, Brussouw etc

Aug 05, 2024, 22:40

You really are clueless Dave, you have these fixations and no ability to take in what’s actually happening on the field. Kolisi better than Schalk….hahaha.

Aug 05, 2024, 22:55

He can be utilized as our human resources manager & national anthem singing coach.

Aug 06, 2024, 03:14

Wow even better than the Genius himself?? Schalk and Brussow was real openside Flankers, not a patch job for a worthless Political movement.

Aug 06, 2024, 10:23

Kolisi is definitely better than Schalk - Schalk was a predictable battering ram at test level he offered nothing else

Was only allowed to shine playing for Sarries and was never a true openside - he was too big for the role

Kolisi is a class act and a great leader he proved that in the WC and in that first Irish test where he was great

Aug 06, 2024, 14:30

Schalk is a legend….Kolisi is a fantasy.

Aug 06, 2024, 16:08

Kolisi is twice the rugby legend Schalk is

Look I rated Schalk but not while he played as a test player. He was poorly utilised as a make shift openside

His true value became apparent when he played for Sarries

Kolisi is a far better linking player and just as physical as Schalk was - I’d take Kolisi at 6 all day long

Class player, class bloke and great leader and ambassador for rugby - a true legend - certainly our greatest rugby legend and one of the worlds rugby legends. Two WC’s and all those inspirational deliveries from the heart - now that is a true legend

Aug 06, 2024, 19:27

You cannot fault the Kolisi Foundation which is run by his wife Rachel and Siya joins when he isn’t playing or Training Rugby.

They have been joined by the Tashas group. They have a Community Kitchen , sport centre, education and support for Gender base Violence….there Kitchen manages to feed round about 780 000 people ( grownups and Children) per year.

They help mostly in the Eastern Cape where help is needed the most. Also in Zwide where he grew up.

But they also help in Cape Town and work together with the Saartjie Baartman centre for Woman and Children….same story as in the Eastern Cape.

Community Kitchen, Sports Centre, Enducation and Support for Gender base Violence….Sorry I was wrong about the man as he is a Ambassador.

During that Lockdown and Sick people, Kolisi was Distributing food and house supplies in the town ships with his teams.

Using wheelbarrows to push supplies where vehicles could not go….his plan after Rugby is to expand his Foundation even more….good job.

Aug 06, 2024, 20:36

Very pleased to read about the foundation and the work that they do for the needy.

Always welcomed to feed and support the poor particularly in South Africa with the high unemployment and the explosive birth rates.

Perhaps he should retire and do it full time plus with his conracts he should not have any concerns with raising funds for those who need help.

Shucks I forgot, he also has to earn a living to support the lifestyle he has now grown accustomed to so that is a real issue.

Well keep milking the system guy especially if the franchises are stupid enough to support your demands.

I wonder if he has thought of making a video singing before a test, plus a series of rugby coaching videos..........should make him very wealthy.

Golden opportunity for someone to sponsor him and make a killing.

Ice-cream could be a winner I think.

If only we knew of someone who is involved in making and distrubiting such a product.

Aug 06, 2024, 20:38

He is a silent humble man...that doesn’t make him a pushover or a puppet...and there's a reason why him and Eben are best friends...that's enough for me...go Siya...make it 3 in a row!!

Aug 06, 2024, 20:44

3 what in a row?

Aug 06, 2024, 21:45

Spot on Draad - good call - there is a good reason Eben and Siya are best mates

Kolisi is class all round

All these wankers bashing him should be ashamed on every level

Aug 06, 2024, 23:01

3 Full Tests without being replaced at 60 minutes or less.

Siya Kolisi: ‘I remember the day I watched him beat up my mother. I get so angry but I must control myself’

South Africa’s World-Cup winning captain discusses losing himself in alcohol and strip clubs, seeing his mother’s face change from repeated beatings and his dream of emulating Richie McCaw

Siya Kolisi: ‘I remember the day I watched him beat up my mother. I get so angry but I must control myself’

Aug 07, 2024, 00:29
