23 – Lukhanyo Am (Hollywoodbets Sharks) – 41 caps, 35 pts (7t)

Bit surprised that Manie is named ahead of Pollard and I would have had Moodie on the bench rather than Am but it's a pretty good team.

Nov 14, 2024, 12:10

Yes yes Wilco jou yster!!! Funny of me to say this but maybe as shark said it the other day,

maybe it would have been good to send 1. Steenekamp 2. Marx and 3. Wilco of the bench as they play together at the Bulls.

Anycase i am happy either way. The English better prepare themselves for scrum time :)

Happy RG is starting as he is in super form…..Libbok starting is telling me that they might run more with the Ball ….

I sincerely hope he has his kicking boots on and that he tackles better.

And yes I agree on Moodie in place of am….he was solid on defence and running quite a few good lines vs the scots…. Go Bokke!!

Rooinek I support virtually all your picks/   The team will be announced tomorrow at 13:00 SA Time.

Nov 14, 2024, 12:14

Love that side - about time we saw our best poes selected

Nov 14, 2024, 12:15

Oh Goodness Uncle Mike, this is the Team for the England game!!

Today 13:00, 14 November was team announcement….

Nov 14, 2024, 12:21

Ou Maaik, I know you aren't the shiniest coin in the fountain but please try to understand this isn't my team, it's the team that Rassie has named.

Nov 14, 2024, 12:27

Listen Rooinek read my message again.    I firsts aid I support the tem posted by you and the adde fr te inford members that the offfical temaannoubcement as tomorow. at 13:00.

Stop being childish please

Nov 14, 2024, 12:28

Wilco Louw you beaut.

GO FSU on Saturday!

I love transition that Rassie does when he phases players out over time... like Willie for Fassi.

He doesn't do a quick switch... but he uses the experience of Willie. And I am sure Willie appreciates that.

Same with Jasper and Duane!

Nov 14, 2024, 12:45

". . . and the adde fr te inford members that the offfical temaannoubcement as tomorow. at 13:00."

Ou Maaik, I think I understand Shitory well enough to unscramble that garbage you typed and it seems you think the official announcement only happens tomorrow.

You're wrong.

The team announcement was today and that is the team. If that makes your feeble little brain hurt then so be it.

Nov 14, 2024, 13:09

The very very unlucky player is Esterhuisen not being at least on the bench.

He could have covered both 12 and 13….his power is tremendous.

Nov 14, 2024, 13:23

What I find so strange is that Wilco Louw is starting meaning he is regarded as the best tighthead in the squad and rightly so - so why the fuck was he not selected in the original squad

Where is the logic in the original squad selection that excluded Wilco?

Nov 14, 2024, 13:44

I expect tomorrow round about 13h05 we'll see a post from ou Maaik that goes something like this . . .

"Wyh arre R@55ie solate wi th his teem anno$^TFcement? Tihs are unaksepterbill. I does knot toller rate this waht are defishint. Wen is tihsteam been anouunced???"

Nov 14, 2024, 13:59

Very good question Dave…. But listening to Rassie explaining the Squad,

he said that he started Thomas to see what he has got and now start Wilco to see what he has got.

But starting Wilco for the England game proves what you are saying….. Rassie has strange ways about him….

One thing I do know now for certain is that Rassie is really trying to extend the player life of many of the Core group.

I mean he is even still talking about Trevor and his future with the boks? He is definitely trying for now rotating Frans to save him for WC 27??

The same he says counts for Vincent. What about a Hanro Jacobs??

I mean I really don’t know what to think of that….I would also bring a guy like Carlu Sadie into the mix.

Nov 14, 2024, 14:06

Have Wilco and Thomas as the incumbents. Then get some younger props in like Hanro and Carlu.

That makes more sense than trying to save Frans, Vincent and Trevor?

Nov 14, 2024, 14:29

If Rassie believes Trevor, Koch etc are going to make the next WC, best he chuck in the towel right now.

I think Nyakane is gone, Koch has to be next post this tour and Malherbe probably has another season left in him.

Wilco and Thomas need to be invested in as our tightheads with Sadie, Hanro Jacobs and Francious Klopper pushing

Nov 14, 2024, 14:37

Agreed

Nov 14, 2024, 15:03

Here is the Poms we will be facing:

England team: 15 - Freddie Steward 14 - Tommy Freeman 13 - Ollie Lawrence 12 - Henry Slade 11 - Ollie Sleightholme 10 - Marcus Smith 9 - Jack van Poortvliet 8 - Ben Earl 7 - Sam Underhill 6 - Chandler Cunningham-South 5 - George Martin 4 - Maro Itoje 3 - Will Stuart 2 - Jamie George (captain) 1 - Ellis Genge

Replacements: 16 - Luke Cowan-Dickie 17 - Fin Baxter 18 - Dan Cole 19 - Nick Isiekwe 20 - Alex Dombrandt 21 - Harry Randall 22 - George Ford 23 - Tom Roebuck

There Loose trio Especially Chandler, will be difficult. There Frontrow is not to shabby. It’s going to be a cracker…..Go Bokke!!

Nov 14, 2024, 16:28

They are crazy to have dropped their wing FMB unless he is injured

v Poortvelt is shit at 9

Nov 14, 2024, 17:04

Who is FMB ?

Feyi-Waboso is injured, not dropped.

Nov 14, 2024, 17:05

Powerful side that will have the poms worried.

Looking forward to seeing Wilco perform.

To think the Bok backline could still call upon Willemse and Sasha.

Moodie bit unlucky but Am still a fine player.

Hope the weather is going to be good. We unfortunately had to play a number of games in the wet in The RWC and the Boks are not accustomed to wet weather rugby.

Nov 14, 2024, 17:35

Imagine there’s a scenario with Poorfeet and Ford on together and Cole in the scrum

Ford vs Libbok might create a super highway through 10 channel. Or more concerningly…a worm hole

Nov 14, 2024, 17:41

Oh don’t. This match is worrying me a lot :(

Nov 14, 2024, 17:52

Becs don’t worry the only thing you have to worry about is that if this Bok side selected gets it right after a stutter against Scotland that they don’t put 30 points on you

Lose by 10 will be a good result for you given the Bok B side beat Oz by 30 :)

Nov 14, 2024, 18:47

Bench should have had Thomas instead of Koch and Hendrikse instead of Reinach

Nov 14, 2024, 18:59

Hope the Springboks aren't as complacent as our posters.

I have a funny feeling about this one . . .

Nov 14, 2024, 19:12

Saffolk…..I’ll be happy if we keep the deficit to fifty :'(

Nov 14, 2024, 19:13

Agreed Rooi England will be up for this tit and it’s always a tough one

It will go down to the wire - I was just winding Becs up

Nov 14, 2024, 19:23

I don’t need winding up…..I’m too depressed by the imminent loss this weekend ! :(

Nov 14, 2024, 21:18

Poking fun at the outoppie, what a fcn tool you are...

Nov 14, 2024, 21:26

Probably our best team while  Willemse is injured...lekke Manie!

Nov 14, 2024, 21:31

Willemse and Sacha

Nov 14, 2024, 21:36

Bollocks ..................... if ouMaaik has the time, stamina & intelligence to compile posts that exceed a thousand words, then he can surely revisit some of his posts, & edit, making them more comprehensible for us long-suffering readers .

Nov 14, 2024, 23:00

Ouens.

We need to stop with levercmike.

We prob only have him for another year or two at most.

When he is unable to read, we’ll all miss him here.

So lay off him.

Rather pick on our prized stud Saffex. He’s apparently still young, fit, handsome and short. And has plenty time on his hands, since he was fired and forced in to early retirement by the horticultural association of West Midlands.

Nov 15, 2024, 01:02

I like the way Rassie has managed Libbok he could quite easily have wiped the kid and by so doing his career. I hope for everyone's sake Libbok puts his kicking issues to rest and repays Rassie for the faith that he's put in him.

Other than that I'm not sure what the fuss is with the selected team it's pretty much a typically anticipated  Rassie team, butter on toast, bacon and eggs for breakfast if you get my drift.

Go Manie...Go Bokke!

Nov 15, 2024, 01:04

We prob only have him for another year or two at most.

Thank you Lord that is mighty generous of you.

Nov 15, 2024, 05:26

Rather pick on our prized stud Saffex. He’s apparently still young, fit, handsome and short.

Fixed.

Nov 15, 2024, 05:45

Well said Chippo.

May the Lord spare Mike for many years. A voice of sanity on this Board.

Nov 15, 2024, 06:24

& sad to say, as you get older, you get shorter.

ouDawie's heading to dwarfism...................

Nov 15, 2024, 16:25

He’s not short !!

Nor does he live in the West Midlands :P

Nov 15, 2024, 16:55

Saffex is not short or fat. I was with my wife the night we met him in a pub in St John's Wood and she described him as very good looking.

Becs, I'm interested to know about your relationship with Saffex. There were some months when he was absent from this board and so were you. You only seem to post when he's around so what's the story? Where do you two know one another from and how come you both only post when the other one is around?

Nov 15, 2024, 19:23

Rooinek……it’s a total coincidence if we both post at the same time. I’m a poorly person so I’m not around all the time and often when I am, I just read through the topics and don’t post anyway.

As for knowing Saffex……I met him on the old site many years ago. We’re good friends :)
