Not sure why we have to have two opensides in Kwagga and v Staaden on the bench - I don’t get the investment in v Staaden he is at best solid, nothing dynamic about him.

I guess they see more impact coming from him than a specialist lock like Moerat on the bench. We really need to be investing in the next lock on the bench and for me the obvious would have been Ruben v Heerden but like a few others he has not cracked the squad yet

I would have started Marx and had Am ahead of Kriel. Also tempted to start Fassi ahead of Willie - we need to move on from Willie but we kind of need the vision Willie brings - it’s a hard one

My predictiion in most cases was supported by the above selections.   

My key comment was about Feinberg Ngomesulu and Pollard  usage is spot on.   The fact that Damian Willemse is not available yet has impacted on Willie le Roux playing - if Willemse was available Le Roux would not be considered for selection.   

After te poor display by De Klerk in the Irish tests I think we may not see him in future and it is clear that Reinach is not  a long term investment. 

On the ebnch I like the invetment in Steenekamp and Dixon and Kwaga being a bench player is the real and practiccal approach.   The latter is wasted as a starter.   The one player I do not support is Van Staden,   The latter i s not a test level player,

Agree, why have 2 loosies? Oh, yes, Kolisi can't last more than 40 min. They need a backup at lock and another back up on the back row. Think Elrich will play the entire game. That guy has got an incredible engine, and so does PSDT, but we need to manage him because he is our best player.

I agree on Am starting for Jessica, it’s like day and night. Also with Sacha starting, we need creativeness in the midfield to feed of Sacha,s play making skills.

Koch stands stronger at TH than Tank. Fuck I hope Wilco gets his chance vs the AB but we need to move on from the old guys, so I would have also gone with Thomas.

He struggled a bit in the beginning against that 38 year old LH from Portugal, but stood great as the game progressed.

This is the oldest team to start the three year WC cycle, with massive turnover needed before the next WC. But this is a great opportunity to win a RC playing both NZ games in RSA. The great change will start on the YE tour or next year.

Reinach has a piss poor service with his few steps and a wind up before the delivery - his selection ahead of Williams is crap and shows no sign of moving on.

Steady and safe is the call from Rassie, apart from Sasha there's nothing bold and adventurous about the backline. Sacha also receives protection from a solid pack....can't ask for more . On paper one has to feel sorry for Oz.

The pack is better than it has been in a while with RG at lock and Louw at 8 instead of Kwagga

Elrich Louw is more of a ball carrier and defender than competing at the base of the ruck.
Kolisi rarely makes an impact here, whereas Steph Dutoit plays wide so the Boks breakdown might get exposed if the ball carriers dont dominate the collisions early on.

With Marx on the bench, the team itself may be a bit lacking at the base of the ruck.
Although the Boks may just be too strong for them, the Boks would do well to find a specialist fetcher at 6 or have a Vermuelen-style number 8 that can play all styles of the game.

At least 2 of the back row must be competitive on the ground - at least when the breakdown is not going well.

Zuluman will move to 15 in the 2nd half  & Williams/ Pollard will steer the bombsquad to victory over a brave Aussie who'll be compensated by winning the breakdown battle.

You apparently miss out on a lot of things and least of all is that Marx used to be a lion at breakdowns and thus far has not been very effective in that regard.   When the ball is played wide the breakdwn play is dominated by De Allende and Du Toit at this stage.   Vermeulen was excellent at breakdowns near to forward play -but that is where he  performed exxtremely well,   When the breakdowns was wider out Vermeulen was not a factor at breakdowns.

Most of the over 33 year olds will be out and the squad has plenty of youngsters tha would reduce the age to  what it was in the  2019 WC w hen the average age of the playing team was 27,7 years of age.   That type of team entails a gradual replacement program - not an instant one.
