It looks like the unions are in advance talks to bring back the old school tours. Including A games and mid week games. I don't know how they would fit it in with all the rugby being played at the moment.
Should they just kill the rugby Championship once and for all?
All Blacks are playing 2 test matches this year in SA. Why not make this a tour? Instead of playing Portugal, why not just the All Blacks to play an extra game against an SA A team. That way we can get all the young guns to Face the kiwis.
There are talks that they want to host it once every 4 years.
To me, I wouldn't mind watching SA best against NZ best. But I don't understand why?
In theory, they could just play the championship over 2 seasons. But I'm not sure how it would work where it is fair.
ie, SA can go play 3 matches in NZ, on their return they can play 3 Matches against Australia. But it leaves Argentina out and one team without any games.
I think what they have done now kind of works. 2 games in SA and 2 Games in Australia NZ, Arg / SA splitting 1 game each at home. So gives them 5 test.
Anyway, not sure how the tours would work in todays age
