**The Springboks are gearing up for an action-packed tour in the UK, starting with a game against Japan at Wembley this Saturday. They are set to announce their squad on Tuesday afternoon, around 5 pm South African time. This game, not falling within the World Rugby’s international window, means players like Jean Kleyn, RG Snyman, and Thomas du Toit won’t be seen on the pitch due to their commitments in Ireland and England. However, Rassie Erasmus can still tap into the talents playing in Japan.**

"The Japan game is set up for us for the Japan-based players who don’t currently play in the league and for some players who are coming back from injury,"

Erasmus detailed last month.

The availability of Bulls forward Jan-Hendrik Wessels is up in the air after a nine-week suspension from an incident in the United Rugby Championship, with an appeal pending. Additionally, Damian Willemse's participation is uncertain following a hamstring scare during a recent Stormers match.

Erasmus expressed his anticipation for the tour, emphasizing the rigorous competition they will face.

"We are excited about the tour and to measure ourselves against some of the best teams in the world,"

he stated, acknowledging the hard work put in post-Rugby Championship.

The tour includes high-stakes matches against France in Paris, Italy in Turin, Ireland at the Aviva Stadium, and Wales at the Principality Stadium. Each game promises to test the Boks' mettle, with Erasmus noting the physical and mental readiness needed.

Reflecting on the upcoming game against Japan, Erasmus expects a fierce challenge. "Japan have been improving steadily over the last few years, and they defeated us a few years ago, so we have no doubt they will come out guns blazing next Saturday and throw everything at us," he remarked.

As the Springboks prepare to face these international adversaries, the blend of seasoned players and fresh talent will be crucial to navigating a tour that holds not just competitive but also atmospheric challenges, given the shift in playing conditions from South Africa to the colder, wetter UK.
